Here We Go: DOJ Still Hasn't Approved FBI Warrant (trunc.)

On Friday afternoon FBI Director James Comey announced that due to new findings, the criminal investigation into Hillary Clinton's private email server had been reopened.

The new information was found inadvertently during a separate, unrelated investigation of former Congressman Anthony Weiner's sexting with an underage girl. Emails related to Hillary Clinton's case were found on a laptop belonging to Weiner and ex-wife Huma Abedin, who is a longtime aide for Clinton.

As a result, requests for search warrants to read through the new information were submitted to the Department of Justice. They still haven't been approved. Yahoo News has the exclusive:

As of Saturday night, the FBI was still in talks with the Justice Department about obtaining a warrant that would allow agency officials to read any of the newly discovered Abedin emails, and therefore was still in the dark about whether they include any classified material that the bureau has not already seen.

“We do not have a warrant,” a senior law enforcement official said. “Discussions are under way [between the FBI and the Justice Department] as to the best way to move forward.”

I hope the "average voter" sees this obstructionism for what it is. Not counting on it though, especially since it's being reported as "Comey doesn't have a warrant" as opposed to the truth; "Obama's DOJ won't issue a warrant".

I highly doubt they will get a warrant.

Why wouldn’t the warrant given NYPD extend to other law enforcement investigations?

But they agree whole heartedly about searching and confiscating without warrants when it comes to SUSPECTED drug dealers.

The AG might just find herself named for collusion.

Looks like Comey has bailed out of the crashing airplane before the wings come off.

If Weinerman turned it over they won’t need it.

Here We Go: DOJ Still Hasn't Approved FBI Warrant (trunc.)

If, as many of the dem professional apologists claim, these emails don't have anything to do with the Beast, then the Dept of inJustice delays will only serve to keep the issue in the news.

The tried and true often used clinton crime family tactic of "Deny, Delay, Attack" is in full swing in an effort to run out the clock and get past the election.

The AG is openly obstructing justice here, while operating under extreme conflict of interest.

The only reasonable view of her role in this case is co-conspirator.

I understand Weiner has given FBI permission to look at laptop, no warrant needed now.

I know the FBI is obliged to get the DOJ OK to proceed. However, I wonder if there is an escape route for them. For instance maybe they obtained all the permissions needed with the original investigation, and the current investigation is merely an extension of the earlier case.

I thought I read somewhere else that Weiner is cooperating and gave them the computer. If true, no warrant would be needed.

“Obama’s DOJ won’t issue a warrant”.

DOJ doesn’t issue warrants. A judge issues warrants. What is to stop the FBI from going directly to a Federal Judge and obtaining a warrant without DOJ blessing it. Answer....nothing. So go get a warrant, screw the DOJ, Lynch and Obamma.....red

I thought a warrant came from a judge. Separate branch of government.

When the AG is corrupt, who is going to stop her? Who is going to call her out? The MSM? Congress?

We have one, last, and *only* way to get these bastards out, and that’s to vote on Nov 9.

Why would they be going to the DoJ for a warrant?

Warrants come from the judge with the appropriate jurisdiction, correct?

What is to keep the FBI from talking directly to the appropriate judge?

So the FBI can read the email headers but not the email text content? Is that how it works? I assume they can read the headers otherwise how would they know the emails have anything to do with Hillary ... and thus a need to reopen her investigation?
