Frank Drebin would be so proud of his namesake . . . It was one of those classic “nothing to see here, move along” moments. On today’s Morning Joe, New York Times columnist Frank Bruni, saying that there was no new terrain broached in FBI Director James Comey’s letter of this past Friday, claimed “it won’t move people away from” voting for Hillary Clinton.
Bruni also praised the “incredibly rapid and thorough mobilization of the Clinton campaign and their allies” in getting headlines to mention Comey as much as Clinton, and to question whether the FBI Director did the right thing. Lost on Bruni was the irony that chief among those Clinton campaign “allies” are members of the liberal media who write the headlines. You know: allies such as . . . Frank Bruni.

Yes - unfortunately it will only move 2-3% of the mushy middle voters.
For instance, I am hoping it moves working class married women. It will not move suburban upper-middle class married women (who for some reason) have a strong interest in a pres HC.
The Clinton response has actually been effective in positioning this as a inside baseball fight - and away from the rotten Clinton corruption. Unfortunately, they know what they are doing - if only Ryan and McConnell were 33% as good
Unfortunately, he’s right. They have absolutely no problem with politicians on the left breaking laws as long as they get their free stuff, and people they don’t like getting screwed.
Look at all the gloating from the passage of Obamacare. The right warned them, but when it passed, they celebrated and gloated.
Forget the fact that they were as screwed as their political opponents with crappy and expensive medical insurance. The most important thing was that their opponents lost.
Marginal Hillary voters will stay home, not wanting to vote for the criminal loser.
Marginal Trump voters will vote, wanting to be sure to be on the winning side and stick it to the Establishment.
That’s what they fear.
Die hards will always vote.
On the Margins, we may have a landslide.
