I don’t want people to assume ALL government officials are corrupt. There are some to be sure, but there are also people who have integrity and a love for America. If we elect the right sorts of people, the corruption can be reigned in.
That said, government is inherently inefficient and ultimately corrupt. That’s why the founders sought a limited government of competing powers. We’ve simply allowed government to grow way too big, and that allows corrupt people to do things that simply wouldn’t be possible in a government of strictly limited and well defined powers.
The American people need to wise up and realize that government is NOT their friend. It a necessary evil at best—a fearsome beast that will steal your liberty and confiscate your labor, its hunger for more power and money NEVER ends.
America is still an exceptional country I think. We people do have the power to make peaceful change if we are only willing to use it.
It has to start with the realization that everyone of us look out after our self interest first and foremost. That includes politicians and bureaucrats.
Therefore we have to be stingy with the power and money we give them to do their job, and to watch them like a hawk.
Like in business each person we elect to do a job for us should undergo a performance review each year by us the people who “hired” them and if they get a poor review, they are out.

EXACTLY!
Yes indeed. And our society continues towards that draconian vision.
AP picking it up
mails from the files of Clinton’s campaign chairman John Podesta show that the department official provided Clinton aides with the agency’s official response to a New York Times reporter in advance of the newspaper’s March 2015 report that Clinton had used a private email account to conduct all of her work-related business as secretary.
