I ran across him in 1991 at the MLB All Star Game Fan Fest. I was a volunteer. Got a jersey and some swag out of the deal. I said hello and welcomed him but he was stand offish and fits exactly how Freepers describe him here. Not warm and friendly. He has been slagged here on this website for many years now but he is now dead to us for good.

I feel as you do but realize that "back in the day" Will, like a few others were conservative when compared to the likes of Elinor Clift and many others.

Before CNN, I used to watch shows similar to "Crossfire," (Evans & Novak and the McLaughlin Group) and thought Will quite in "our side."

In 1992 when Pat Buchanan was speaking about "losing our country" with the levels of immigration coming from Third World countries and Mexico, Will, like so many others, excoriated Buchanan calling him every name from "racist" and "xenophobic" (thanks to Will and others, realized I was also xenophobic!)
