Congratulations!! I honor your achievements.
My dad wouldn’t let me take physics in high school unless I could win, place or draw in the Betty Crocker Homemaker Award Contest. I was furious. I took third in the contest and took physics. One of the continuing joys of my life is quantum physics. When I was in college I was told ‘women don’t pass Physical Chemistry’. I took it anyway and made an A—no one else did. And that has gone on all my life....thank god for people like us. Trump will win because of people like us.
After my BS, I earned a DVM and then my PhD. I loved everything I learned except Clayburg Kinetics (?sp). Then 20 years later I went back to school and earned my MS in Nursing and became a Family Nurse Practitioner.
What a joy it has been to share all that with other people and especially with those who wondered “Can I do that?”. Yes, at one level or another, sometimes spectacularly, you CAN DO THAT.
Trump CAN DO WHat he dreams of doing with our help.
Yay! YAY!
I like your dad. I always encouraged my PhD (neuroscience) daughter intellectual and her mother taught her all the girl stuff. She is a super mom with two kids. I don’t know how she does it. Like the drunks and the rest of us, I guess, one day at a time.
Of course my rules were different. She could not get her learner’s permit until she could shoot, field strip, clean, and reassemble a 1911 and she could not get her driver license until she could change a tire by herself.
LOL. My mom earned a chemistry degree back in 1941! SHe said that while girls were playing with dolls she was playing with erector sets. She worked for the Manhattan project then Pfizer. She was hired in with 30 other men and was relegated to a secretary. She quit soon after, got married and had many kids. She later got a masters and taught middle school. After retiring and later dad passed away, she made a mint in the stock market circa 2004 through 2010 by carefully studying companies and reading IBD every day. So keep on keeping on.
Me likey!
I received my BS-Chem in 1981 after suffering through 2 sessions of P-Chem, Quantum Chem, Quantum Phys and Diff-EQ in my senior year. I still have nightmares over the assignments!
Good on ya’ mate!
