Mexico City (AFP) - Mexicans have smashed Donald Trump pinatas and torched the Republican White House hopeful's effigy. Now they hope he will crash and burn in Tuesday's US presidential election.

The New York billionaire became Mexico's bogeyman ever since he called migrants "rapists" and drug dealers when he launched his campaign last year.

"The guy is a clown, a blowhard," said Jafet Granados, an 18-year-old biotechnology student who was standing under Mexico City's Angel of Independence monument.

"If he wins, he won't do half of what he has promised."

“They sure are full of hatred for Americans. They hate “gringos”. They’ll make great “democrats”.”

There’s neighborhoods in SoCal where they don’t even bother to conceal their contempt for Americans. This has been a sort of invasion, paid for with our taxes, courtesy of Democrats and treason lobby Republicans.

with all the Mexicans/latinos going against Trump and my ideas for America.... I will make every effort to not hire any company that uses Mexican workers. Probably will have to do my own roofing on my houses but I have done that before and can lay block and brick and cut grass. Screw ‘em.

Bill Clinton said borders are going to be ‘open’ for a long time... I suspect it’s punishment for citizens objecting to the payoffs and stealing ‘elite thugs’ in DC do...

Mexico’s a wonderful country for the corrupt elites who run the place... it’s a hellhole for most everyday citizens. It’s why Mexicans risk their lives to escape the place to come here.

When our ‘elites’ (thugs) running our country ONLY FOR THEIR OWN BENEFIT take over - where will we escape to?

If he does half of what he has proposed, it
will still be a good thing.

Close the borders, limit immigration...

Most of what is called “Mexican” is actually Tex-Mex, which is basically American in origin, created by Anglo and German American settlers to the Southwest, and their descendants, as well as Americans of Latino and Native Indian background.
