Was close to front in line when my polling station in Appleton opened. Prior to opening the chief poll monitor informed us that our voter numbers would not be “low” as on Saturday they had begun tallying absentee/early votes. I was the first in-person voter for my small ward, and noted when signing that my son’s (away at college in IL) line had been notes “ABS” meaning his absentee ballot had been received and tallied - he was one of the 48 absentee/early voters from my ward. Good job son on your first election, and for not wasting your vote in IL and staying registered at home where we need smart votes. Polling place was steady and busy but not overly so, I’d say about the same as last election cycle. My beautiful wife came through about 1/2 hour after me, said it was steady but efficient, she was in and out in under 10 minutes.
your son probably voted in Illinois...he just don’t know that he did.
