Business Insider ^ | Nov 9, 2016 | Oliver Darcy

Fox News host Sean Hannity, a close ally of Donald Trump, said Tuesday night that Paul Ryan would not retain his position as House speaker in the next Congress.

"Paul Ryan is not going to be the speaker of the House in January," Hannity said.

"He's not going to be speaker."

Hm...I think Sean is wrong on this one. Ryan is fully on board with Trump. What else can we expect from him???

Sean Hannity spoke tonight on FOX after Donald Trump won the election for President of the United States. He noted that he spoke with Trump three times throughout the night after he said the following:

And on every objective measure, you know thank God the American people this is about one thing. They see that Washington is broken and by the way Republicans are just as guilty. Paul Ryan is not going to be the Speaker off the House in January. I was going to save that for my program tomorrow. He’s not going to be the Speaker. His state went for Donald Trump tonight.

I mean it’s an amazing turn of events because the establishment on both sides Republican and Democrat have lost touch with the real lives of real Americans that are really suffering and Donald Trump has now opened the door and said we’re going to fix it and we’re going to turn that table over and you know what, I wish him all the best cause it’s not going to be easy because it’s all the same people that opposed him in the lead up to tonight are going to be opposing him tomorrow.

I don't trust him one iota. He's a political mercenary, plain and simple. He thought Trump would lose so he trashed Trump. Now Trump has won, so he's kissing up to Trump.

He seemed genuinely happy that WI went Republican, but then again he also essentially took credit for it.

Paul Ryan almost single-handedly derailed Trump’s campaign. During the Trump campaign’s darkest hour Paul Ryan sought to inflict further damage. He chose poorly. There are consequences.

We not forget the backstabbing. However, while I know all of us feel some forms of vengeance in our hearts today, it is not ours to carry out and the downside is great. It is a safe bet that despite our legitimate anger with Ryan (I was beside myself over his behavior) that both Pence and Priebus will not allowed him to be jettisoned.

With that said, if you just watched his statement, but more importantly heard his answers to media questions, Ryan hit the notes I wanted to hear even as I glared at him. He is after all a politician and the tea leaves are easy to read this morning.

This election for me was about the survival of our nation and getting ourselves back on a path to prosperity and freedom. This was an election about the America we would leave for my children. My prayers were answered. The transition now becomes about implementing the agenda as quickly as possible when he is sworn in.

Ryan is no longer the most powerful Republican, but he will remain the second most powerful in what is now (unbelievably) a one-party government. It really surprised me that Hannity said that last night. Perhaps he knows something that Paul Ryan does not, but I find that hard to believe given Ryan’s close friendship and relationship with Priebus and Pence.

My best guess is that Trump has no intention of moving against Ryan. Trump does not appear to keep grudges and we have heard many people say that. In fact, he said in his book that it’s “bad business” to keep grudges.

With that said, as if we have a choice, we should simply sit back and watch our guy go to work. We should watch Ryan go to work as he pledged to do. We have to watch McConnell (damn that pains me) go to work as he has pledged to do. We should watch them with a wary eye and be prepared to push them if they need it, but you can bet that they got the message loud and clear last night.

The speaker of the house is an amazingly powerful political position. Ryan is the biggest obstacle to Trumps agenda right now, hoping he gets punted out of there somehow. I see all his attempts to make amends as being two faced, he has to go

I saw trumps embrace of Reince as a way of affirming trump as head of the GOP and his thanking Reince for bringing the RNC into line
Some rumor reince could become chief of staff which would move the GOP along with trumps policies and agenda
If so Ryan is not needed and is not to be trusted anyway for reasons trump may know more about than we do
Someone even mentioned Jeff Sessions as a contender fir the House GOP speaker - which would be quite interesting and put another good man in the line of succession and in the important and largely Ryan-abandoned responsibilities of the HOR delegation of powers.... Taxes, budgets, legislation ( think immigration) and declaration of war

Correct.

If anyone starts back treading and are conned by this BS they will have learned NOTHING from this campaign.

The reality is that Trump has an extremely small window of opportunity, and a tenuous coalition, and he needs nothing but the best and most loyal around him. I pray for his strength and wisdom at this time.

If Trump was serious about draining the swamp, then Ryan is circling the drain. He has to be one of the first purged.

I’ve read the “Freedom Caucus” will oppose Ryan in Jan. 2017.

I’m sure I heard President-elect Trump say somewhere at a rally after the GOPe attempted coup, that at this time next year Paul Ryan won’t be the leader? I don’t think he said it out of spite. Trump has predicted some amazing things in the past and they have come true. I think this one will be true also.

Reince Priebus, on the other hand, showed himself to be a true and loyal warrior. He will be rewarded.

Ya, it’s funny, the GOPe think it’s business as usual, man are they in for a wake up call. Trump played nice for a while, but the gloves are coming off and they will be shown no quarter ...

Nothing will change unless Kevin McCarthy gets a boot in the ass along with Ryan.

Naive or what? Ryan is a two-faced, lying, opportunistic scum bag. Everyone knows that, and he's making a fool of himself with this hyporacy and lies.

BTW, he is an open borders puke and TPP advocate. Can you think of any two positions that can destroy the country faster than those two?
