Bill Clinton was the driving force behind the Foundation turning into a slush fund. Ex-presidents are offered a comfortable retirement but he wanted Caligula-style opulence.

Opulence, yes, but BJClinton also wanted to be able to continue to buy power.

What he and Hillary didn't anticipate was that '90s-style, bought-and-paid-for elections wouldn't work this time.

I don’t necessarily disagree but according to Ed Klein’s book Bill wanted only to play golf and fondle women a la Dudley Moore’s Arthur.

He wanted no part of the White House or the media scrutiny and his ‘brilliant political instincts’ consisted of lambasting Hillary on the phone only to have her regularly hang up on him.

His ticker is going irreversibly downhill by his own admission and his doctors’ and he wants to go out in a haze of bacchanalia.
