I didn’t mean to imply that he mentioned them by name. I was just going on my understanding of which side he was on.
I remember the first time he was on national television. He went on at some length about how awful regular Americans were to men with long hair. My thought at the time was, “Man, where were you in 1966? Talk about late to the party.”
The point being that he was on the side of the counter-culture and in opposition to Nixon and the silent majority. When he would talk about some “they” who were bad people, that’s who he meant.
