“If she weighs less than a duck, she floats, and is therefore made of wood and...a witch! Burn her!! Burn her!!!”

NFL/ESPN left wing logic

With Goodell in charge, I’d expect the league to have Kaepernick cut some PSA’s touting the sport before they even give a thought to disciplining him and his ilk.

Correct.

Because of the plethora of rules and the entrepreneurial compensation model, many mistake the NFL for athletic competition. Its not. Its entertainment.

The owners know it. Some players act like they know it. But, the vast majority of fans do not know it.

Getting the players to act like the actors they are would teach the fans that it is just a show and it would end the party. Hence, tolerating their antics instead of weeding out the bad actors.

Even the owners of crappy teams make a fortune.

It’s like a cartel or Mafia.

While ignoring the cause of this former fan’s discontent, why did he have to bring Trump into the discussion? Perhaps this was an admission of his politics.

Higher ups at the NFL won’t allow him to be cut. Ineffective, highly paid, and no future with the 49ers as he will be a free agent. No likely suitors. 8 weeks left to prove he can still play and it’s not the 49ers job to give him that forum. Eric Reid has been a disappointment with his play and Eli Harold completely ineffective. Political correctness will not allow them to be cut loose.

I stopped watching NFL football for two reasons.
  1. The atrocious officiating. The only season I've enjoyed in recent history was the 2012 season when the "real" officials went on strike. The replacement officials weren't in on the "fix" that surrounds every game and they called it how they saw it. They were "impartial" and with the exception of a few bad calls throughout the season, the teams that should've won did.
  2. Like everyone else that is no longer watching football my second reason is the political correctness that has swallowed the league. From silly ass morons forcing Hank Williams Jr. out to the worthless, uneducated horse's ass kaepernick and ilk metaphorically s***ing on our flag, constitution and those of us that have been paying his salary... I've had enough.
Let the NFL go the way of the Dodo bird.

The league has turned the players into a bunch of tools used to promote everything but the game.

JMHO

How about losing the horrible announcers and keeping the politics outside the stadium. I don’t watch NFL games to be lectured.

To show how bad this social engineering crap can hurt a football team one need to look no further than the Missouri Tigers. They hit the ground running after joining the SEC with two great seasons. But last season the football team joined the permanently buttsore crowd making demands on the administration or they would strike. They didn’t but their record looks like they are. Their losing skid can directly be tied to their giving their ultimatum. A few days after that they went from serious contenders for the SEC title to doormats.

If this is merely Goodell's coverup... his next career move may be to be head of the DNC

Guys, you are missing the boat.

The only POSSIBLE solution is to go farther leftist, and more Anti-American.

They refuse to acknowledge that many of us refuse to accept their hatred of America as part of their product. I, for one, can’t watch football without seeing their contempt for my beliefs, or at least being reminded of it. The NFL knows why it’s tanking. Have you ever seen so many flags and uniforms at games before?

"..."totally transform" football games into liberal indoctrination sessions that Mao and his Cultural Revolution comrades would be proud of. ..."

Very salient.

That the elites seek to manipulate our society is no longer conspiracy theory.

A few more gripes I would add to your list:

Stop the idiot announcers from talking about anything other than the game at hand. I used to mute the TV and listen on the radio, but they made that impossible by delaying one or the other so they don’t sync up.

Stop showing clips from other games that run so long that you miss parts of the game you are actually watching.

Cut back on all that silly CGI graphics stuff, especially the ones that make the players look like Transformers toys.

Show the halftime entertainment instead of cutting away to a studio where washed up former players say nothing about nothing.

Last and most of all...

NO MORE PINK!

By embracing social and political issues, athletes are breaking the 4th wall. They are free to do this, however with every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. People watch sports to escape life's concerns for a moment and once that immersion is broken, they will look to other forms.

What makes this worse is all the sports shows (ESPN for instance) drive the reality in order to promote certain viewpoints so that they can look politically/socially "legitimate" and push their own propaganda without giving the "other side" time to present an argument. Hence, just a whiny echo chamber over public airwaves.

In time, these sports networks became a tyrant over certain ideological outlooks and made sure to dispose of contrary opinions. A lot of people just got tired of having their intelligence insulted as well as half-truths being shoved down their throats by sports pundits.

Either shut down the social/political aspects or embrace a diverse range of ideological opinions/conclusion based on objective facts.

Three fourths of the league is 4-4. . .there has been no compelling games. I think this is also a factor.

Hear, hear! Maybe one day "entertainers" will learn to its better for business to keep their politicis to themselves.

Maybe they should hire the Dixie Chicks to open the proceedings

Failing that...Obama's favorite band, the Decembrists are always looking for a gig

Of course, Goodell and the NFL still refuses to include the fan boycott of the NFL sparked by the behavior of Kaepernick and other anti-American and anti-White players during the games’ Nation Anthem ceremonies.

*************************************************************

Folks here on FR get it and so do so many others. PC will destroy the NFL as it is destroying ESPN if they do not take the steps to address it strongly. The PC police are few in number but have the megaphone of the liberal media to spread their crap around and intimidate those who do not understand what is going on in America.

My guess is if the NFL instituted a rule FORBIDDING either sitting or kneeling during the National Anthem and announced it publicly (along with an apology for not acting sooner) there would be an immediate ratings jump as disillusioned fans tuned in again.

ESPN could solve their problem by simply telling their own on air people to STFU about anything other than who won the game and how they did it. You know, the way it used to be before the morons wearing the suits decided politics are something sports fans want to hear about when they tune into a sports network.

It’s all obvious at least too me but you know the phrase, “none are so blind as those who refuse to see”

You can tell the NFL is run by libs. They just refuse to believe the truth. Instead they will get lost in the weeds and make things even worse.
