Republican presidential frontrunner Donald Trump -- who said he has a concealed carry permit -- called for the expansion of gun rights Friday, including making those permits applicable nationwide.
In a position paper published on his website Friday afternoon, Trump called for the elimination of gun and magazine bans, labeling them a "total failure."
"Law-abiding people should be allowed to own the firearm of their choice. The government has no business dictating what types of firearms good, honest people are allowed to own," Trump wrote.

“Well, I could...”
Then please do so.

Agree completely. The 2nd amendment right to bare arms extends to all Americans, not just those of us in free states.
Besides it involves the right to travel freely among the states, generally recognized under the 10th amendment.
We aren’t Europe that had to form a union so members could travel without passports. And look how that’s working out ...
Unfree states like California would probably get more tourism. And recall tourists in Florida, their rental cars getting jacked because the thugs figured (rightly) they weren’t able to protect themselves.
Texas CCW cards are issued by DPS, same Dept that handles drivers licenses.
They use the same picture also.
The holder goes thru a thorough background check.
See Albion Wilde’s post; there’s a website set up by President elect Trump where you can send in suggestions.

The greatagain one.
I totally love that guy!
How about this:
---------------------------------------------------
The Armed Militia Act of 2017
Whereas the security of a free state demands the existence of a well-regulated Militia, the following is enacted:
1) All law-abiding adult citizens shall equip themselves with a semi-automatic rifle chambering the NATO 5.56mm cartridge.
2) All such citizens shall further equip themselves with 1000 rounds of such ammunition and 10 thirty round magazines.
3) Citizens failing to so equip themselves shall be fined or imprisoned for up to 30 days whenever such failure shall be noted by law enforcement.
4) The Treasury of the United States shall be authorized to expend whatever funds are necessary to support this mandate.
----------------------------------------------
Do you think any state could exempt itself from having its citizens drafted into the military after such conscription was passed by Congress? The infringements in California don't exist despite Congress, they exist because of Congress.
Similar mandates could be passed by Congress involving every infringement on the books. Every state has the power to arm its Militia. No state has the authority to DISARM their Militia.
The wording of the Constitution does not permit any restriction on who may carry or what they may carry. "Shall not be infringed" does not exclude criminals and the crazy. Any one who should not be armed should not be running around loose.
It is, through the second amendment. Any licensing, permitting or other restrictions are unconstitutional.
Without the second none of the others are enforceable against a criminal regime like the one exiting soon.
But you have to keep them at home or cased and unloaded for transport to the range. Take one out in your yard to defend your property in a riot and you become a criminal. Carry permits require proof of need to carry, and if you're not connected the proof is never enough.
