What was the context of what Wallace said? Right off the bat, it makes no sense.
Its the smartest way to go.Get great candidates that can out the ones int there and if they do it’s likely they will beat the dem as well.
and then there are the myriads of paper towel conservatives. they view life through a paper towel or toilet tissue tube and their vision of reality is so tightly limited they have no view of reality.

I think the LA Times, of all people, had Trump leading quit a bit of the time albeit by 1% or so, and other media outlets “studied” it and attributed it to a solitary Black guy who was hanging on in support of Trump (skewing the poll supposedly). The whole sack of sick puppies need tossed over the dam.
I dropped them years ago.
