VOTER FRAUD in my local paper. Lancaster, SC. I hope somebody will grab this story and run with it. It deserves to see the light of day. Our county election commission is sweeping it under the rug. This journalist, Greg Summers, is one the good guys. He investigates the stories he covers, and has earned a reputation of truthfulness. I’m not able to post a thread, but I hope somebody will.

Protest against Blackmon rejected
Greg Summers
Nov 13, 2016 02:00 AM
Defeated city council incumbent Jackie Harris filed an election protest Thursday, alleging that her opponent Linda Blackmon committed fraud, bribery and coercion in Tuesdays election.
At a hastily arranged hearing Friday afternoon, the Lancaster County Election Commission heard the complaint and Blackmons flat denial of wrongdoing.
The commission unanimously rejected the protest after three contentious hours of testimony. Commission members complained that state law left them very little time to consider Harris detailed allegations against Blackmon.
I dont have a problem losing, Harris said after the hearing. I have a problem losing when I feel there were some improprieties in the election. This is about bringing attention to the problems with paper absentee ballots.
Blackmon said she would not apologize for anything she did in the election. I did not do anything illegal or did not intimidate anybody, she said.
Harris lost the race to Blackmon on Tuesday 281 to 235, a 46-vote margin, with two write-in ballots cast.
Harris received 65 percent of the total votes cast at District 3s five precincts and also got a slight majority of the absentee votes cast on the electronic touchscreen machines at the county elections office. But Blackmon received 92 percent of the 167 paper absentee ballots, and Harris protest alleged that some of those ballots were fraudulently cast.
Blackmon said many voters are fearful of using electronic touchscreen voting machines, and that she helped those voters arrange for paper absentee ballots and didnt break the law in doing so. She argued that she shouldnt be penalized for doing my homework in this way.
Under state laws governing municipal elections, Harris had a 48-hour window from when polls closed at 7 p.m. Tuesday to enter her protest. Her attorney, Elizabeth Hyatt, filed the paperwork Thursday evening.
The law then gave local election officials another 48 hours to hold a hearing on the protest. So that process had to end by Saturday evening.
The city of Lancaster no longer has its own election commission and falls under the jurisdiction of the seven-member county election commission.
At this time, that commission has three open seats. Three of the four commission members Chairman Rick Crimminger, Elvira Faulkner-McIlwain and Marshall Benson were at the 2 p.m. Friday hearing. A fourth commissioner, Ronnie Wall, was not there.
The hearing was scheduled for Friday because only two commissioners were available for a Saturday hearing.
Detailed allegations
Harris protest made nine allegations:
- That Blackmon doesnt live in city council District 3 as she claims. Blackmons candidate filing listed her home address as 104 Rose Lane, which is in the district, but Harris contended in the protest that she actually lives at 701 E. Arch St., which is in District 2.
- That the vast majority of the written requests for absentee ballots listed the Arch Street address where Blackmon resides.
- That one voter was not able to vote due to an unlawful change in her voter registration address.
- That one voter received a bribe from Blackmon.
- That one voter indicated Blackmon gave him a paper absentee ballot and told him to vote in the presidential race and she would fill out the rest.
- That at least 10 voters changed their addresses before the election to one of two Rose Lane homes owned by Blackmon.
- That there are numerous voting irregularities which point to fraud and illegal coercion.
- That two votes appeared to have been cast by the same person.
- That Blackmon may have altered ballots.
Harris attorney complained about the tight timeframe for the hearing and asked for a continuance until next Tuesday. Hyatt said she only found out about the 2 p.m. hearing about noon and was not given sufficient time to present a complete case.
She said there wasnt time to notify the public about the hearing or retain a court reporter to record the proceedings.
She said six subpoenas had been issued for witnesses or were in the process of being issued, and she noted that even the documentation she had requested from the election commission was not ready because the commission spent most of the morning certifying the county election results.
The whole process has to be done with due process in mind, she said, with both parties having the opportunity to be heard, question witnesses and cross-examine witnesses.
No delay allowed
Crimminger asked Blackmon if she would agree to delaying the hearing until Tuesday. Blackmon refused, saying she wanted the protest handled immediately.
Commissioner Benson said due to the time limit imposed by state statute, the commission had no other choice than to hear the matter then.
I dont even know if we have permission to extend it beyond the 48 hours, he said.
Crimminger later said that the commission did not have the authority to grant the continuance without Blackmons consent.
After the continuance was denied, Crimminger then gave Hyatt 15 minutes to get what documentation she needed from the voter registration office.
After coming back, Hyatt laid out a limited case.
She said several people had changed their voting addresses to two Rose Lane homes owned by Blackmon, but did not actually live there. She said there were also multiple requests for absentee paper ballots listing the address as 701 E. Arch St., another property owned by Blackmon.
Paper ballots were sent to the home that Blackmon claimed to live in at 104 Rose Lane, which Hyatt said had such low city water consumption that no one could have been living there. At another Blackmon property, 103 Rose Lane house, she said, six people who requested paper ballots claimed to live there, but it has had no water service at all since Oct. 31, 2014.
Harris and poll watcher Brenda Thompson also briefly testified about alleged voting irregularities.
Blackmon, however, refuted all the claims, saying her main concern was making sure that absentee voters who wanted paper ballots got them. Some residents, she said, no longer have mailboxes. Other residents, she said, are physically unable to walk to their mailboxes.
They asked me to help, Blackmon said.
She said not all the paper ballots mailed to her home were for voters who live in city council District 3.
She also claimed that she had sold the home at 103 Rose Lane and the one she listed as her residence, 104 Rose Lane, had low water consumption because the water was turned off due to multiple water leaks. Had Hyatt checked previous water bills there, she said, they would show one for more than $500 and another for more that $200.
I will not let anybody play-hate me, she said. The water had to be cut off so substantial repairs could be made.
Commissions ruling
After hearing both sides, the commission denied the protest and upheld the election results.
Benson called the hurried hearing a disservice, but the commission, he said, must uphold state law. The voters have spoken and made their decision, Benson said.
A frustrated Crimminger agreed, saying the matter of Blackmons actual residency is a matter for city council to take up if it chooses.
The law states that a candidate must live there on the day of the election, he said. Id like to say everything is black and white, but there is a lot of gray getting thrown at us. I know nobody is happy about this.
The exception was Blackmon, who said she was pleased with the commissions decision.
A dejected Hyatt said after the hearing that Harris was robbed of due process by the time limit for the hearing.
Harris could appeal the commissions decision at the circuit court level if she chooses. But if she does, she will not be allowed to present any additional evidence other than what was presented to the election commission.
Ill talk to my attorney, and we will go from here, Harris said. But somebody needs to know whats going on.

Amazing. The DNC is going with one of the few overtly muslim congresscritters? Why?? More FU to the remaining non-psychopathic blue-collar types in the rat party??? Islam to be the face of the DNC???? Have they thought this through fully????????
Also,I would like to thank everyone who posted/participated in our election thread which was a huge success, over 10,000 posts so far!It seemingly doesn’t end!
I was honored to have kicked it off and been able to chat with so many brilliant freepers.
I'm still amazed that none of the media talking heads mention Hillary's 9/11/16 collapse and tossed-into-scoobie-van like a side of beef as influential in her loser status.
Rence Priebus on the other hand had chance after chance to destroy Trump and he didn't do it.He alwasy saw the bigger picture, imho.
On the other hand he helped Trump every chance he got and I hope he is nominated for chief of staff he would be perfect.
I was honored to have kicked it off and been able to chat with so many brilliant freepers.
...
Smartest folks in America
Super honor, RG...funny, but my wife joined now, ‘westside’
She’s now a freep addict here and I am no longer so smart as she gets scoops before me!
Y’all make her feel welcome.
Yeah the drivebys will have to reach down into their bag of trick/lies very deep to come up with something that sticks for the communist movement to keep on going. It’s dead Jim!
To clarify my Post 59, it’s the anti-Trump politicians and media people who are engaging in sniping and sabotage, not those citizens who criticize them. I’m just saying I’m willing to extend an olive branch and hopefully they’ll see reason and begin to work with Trump’s program for America.
The first time in 2 months I am actually looking forward to watching the Sunday Morning Talk Shows.
Rudy needs to ask Steppy if his wife has begun to pack their bags....
I expect today’s post-mortems will concentrate on the reasons the polls were wrong, and go very lightly on why Clinton herself failed.
At first around five pm eastern I tried to reply to posts that were coming in really fast.
By 1:00 am I had answered the first thousand posts, the ones that were addressed to me.
At that time I was over 5,000 posts behind. So I figured out there was no way I would answer them all. So I moved to current and finally crashed around 2:30 am.
In the morning we were over 10,000 and still going. It was a momentous thread with all the good guys there even a shout from Ted Cruz which I still have a hard time dealing with.He was just too hard on Trump to forget for now, IMHO.,p> Once again thanks to all who participated.
We do our work here 24/7--Jim/Rob is always open for business.Patriotism always has a place at FR.
agreed...Priebus stood almost alone among GOPe to help Trump and could greatly assist building some huge majorities in Congress. Donald’s coattails were huge, however, so most R’s are probably already on board.
Of course preemptive pardons are allowed. Ford did it for Nixon. He did “grant a full, free, and absolute pardon unto Richard Nixon for all offenses against the United States which he, Richard Nixon, has committed or may have committed or taken part in during the period from January 20, 1969 through August 9, 1974.”
The Left is going to throw the Democrats, as a party, under the bus, McGovern-style for a generation. There's no Carter going to emerge out of this gib-me-dat cluster***k.
I don't think Keef is the winner anyway, it's a dirty trial balloon ... the shiny whitey DNC heavyweight donors - especially the NY Kosmopolitans and the Cali tech cadre? When they won't be able to make a call and get what they want in a snap of the fingers? No way.
Speaking of polls....
....in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost....why were THEY ALL WRONG???
I admit I was demoralized, especially with that Fox poll may they burn in purgatory for a bit to cleanse their sin.
Every day, on FOX!!!!....I’d hear “Hillary plus 6” or some such. THEY NEVER HAD TRUMP WINNING!!!!!
Also that Wapo9/ABC piece of crap. I know there was one poll that regularly showed Trump winning, often posted in breaking news here on FreeRepublic....IPSOS or something.
But most of those polls were wrong and how on earth did they ALL get it wrong?
Ayotte lost because she’s not a conservative. Do we really need her? Also she sold out Trump.
