The name Reince is probably a family name made into a first name, like the name Joy Morton, a male, had. His mother’s maiden last name was Joy. (We’re related to that family too.) My great grandmother had a brother named Masury (looks like misery to me) He was named after a grandmother’s maiden name. By the way Masury is an ancestor of Hugh Hefner, which makes me a third or fourth cousin to Hefner, whom I have never met, by the way.
That was my supposition about it too, but someone upthread who sounded like they knew what they were on about said that it's more likely a shortening of the German Reinhold.
Or somethin' like that .. lol
