Trump has to satisfy his base. But Trump also has to work with establishment Republicans in Congress to actually get stuff passed. Hence, the dual appointment.
Trump gets to exercise the kind of managerial control he likes. Plus, if one of them screws up, it will be easier to handle replacing them.
Lots of potential win in this. But, it has a potential to devolve into conflict and backbiting. So, the proof (as it always is) will be in the pudding.
I have said all along that I am not going to like some (probably many) of the things he does but I am just going to have to trust his judgement. DC is a swamp that will have to be navigated. I guess RP is one of those things.
I am going to have to resort to calling him RP because his name it too much for me to remember to spell ;-)
