During his campaign, Trump said he would cancel all federal funding to so-called “sanctuary cities.” On Saturday, Hodges pledged to ignore President Trump when he takes office. According to Hodges, she will see to it that Minneapolis law enforcement officers will not assist federal agents in tracking down illegal aliens.
Hodges released a statement Saturday titled “Support for Immigrant Community Keeps Minneapolis Safer”:
“I will continue to stand by immigrants in Minneapolis. For years, Minneapolis has codified in ordinance that our police officers will not do the work of the Federal government and ICE regarding immigration status. If police officers were to do the work of ICE it would harm our ability to keep people safe and solve crimes. Witnesses and victims of crimes won’t come forward if they think our police officers will question or detain them about their immigration status. Our ordinance has helped us solve crime and keep communities safer. If our police were doing the work of ICE, Minneapolis would be less safe for everyone, regardless of immigration status.

Jan Brewer was sued by the Federal Gubmint for trying to enforce Federal law.
Now, we finally get to see what happens when they refuse to enforce the law.
Shove the DOJ up their a$$es just like Obama did in every city that had a high profile police shooting. Even when it determined to be a good shoot, the DOJ still has their presence in those city halls, costing it’s residents even more taxes and a far more strained police force.
What does she care if the City of Minneapolis is fined or receives no federal funding?
However, give her jail time and a heavy personal fine for every illegal alien she abets, and she'll sing a different tune. If she doesn't, she'll be rendered impotent; what can she do if she's broke and in jail for 20 or 30 years? And her replacement will be glad to obey U.S. law when he/she witnesses Hodges' example.
So if MN don’t agree with this Squatters’ Rights mayor, they can take her example and not pay their city and school taxes that support the illegal aliens. Ignoring the laws we don’t like can cut both ways. Obeying the law should be required equally.
No problem. Arrest her for aiding criminals. Make her defend herself in court for years if necessary.
Perhaps we can find a way to heat their lakes. No more ice fishing might change the local mood.

I would do all of that. Show her in an orange prisoner suit and cuffs being led to a prison bus.

I’m sure the legal residents of Minneapolis will line up by the tens of thousands to donate enough to cover the federal funds which will be withheld. Or, they will joyously pay a huge tax increase to cover the funds. They’ll be so happy about what she has done, that they will vote her in as Mayor for Life, erect a statue of her downtown, and daily pay tribute to her as their heroine.
