That’s one more than I’ve watched. The best football is on Saturdays.
Hey Mike! Realize one thing — Donald Trump’s election was how the rest of us decided to “take a knee”.
Don’t they get it? They’re kneeling themselves right out of jobs. (Not that there’s anything wrong with that.)
Thanks. I had no idea.
Grandpa Dave, you can take them back off the list.
Portrait of an *sshole.
The alienation of the NFL's fan base of patriotic, red-blooded Americans is only the first step.
Next, replace those fans with fans in... London, Montreal, Berlin, Mexico City, Rio De Janerio, et al. Cities all over the world, particularly in the third world, and players from the third world too. We're talking the long term plan here.
Avid fans in "First World" places where the people have money to spend will more than compensate for the loss of most American fans, and "Third World" places that will be the recruiting grounds for the players who will replace American players. Places where the tolerance for hooliganism would make concern about debilitating injuries to third-world players nothing more than an afterthought.
Oh, but they don't play football in those countries? True, but we're talking the long term here. Watch for the incremental exportation of American football to Mexico and Central America and Cuba, to compete with boxing for the interest of the young men there who feel so inclined. No reason it can't be popularized elsewhere either, any place there are athletic young men looking for a way out of poverty.
Maybe they won't have quite the skills of American players, but who says they've got to replace ALL the American players? They'll work cheap, and so what if a guy busts his coverage more than the American player he replaced? It'll even out by the same thing happening to the other team, and make for more big plays to excite the fans.
Even look for changes to the game itself to accommodate this coming generation of new, less sophisticated players, i.e. offenses looking less like we know today and more like high school or college teams of the past. It's very important to depress the market for players so there will be no more having to pay $50m to some QB, or any other "superstar" player, even if he is an American.
Buy some poor Mexican kid's mom a new cabana and make him a hero in his hometown, and everyone, everyone who counts anyway, will be happy.
If the typical American fan doesn't like it, screw him, he's an anachronism.
Most of the American kids's moms won't allow them to play football any more, anyway, because of CTE.
That's why the owners and the decision makers at the NFL and the networks are laughing their butts off at us all the way to the bank for not getting it. "Good plan Roger".
"Planet Football League", here we come.
Okay. That being said, being female, MAYBE my gauge for a full life might be different than yours.
I do watch baseball and tennis.
I apologize as my original comment seemed directed at you.
I am so disgusted that we spend millions in tickets and television revenue on a sport where half the players would not be able to live in decent society due to criminal behavior. We are letting these people that hate our country and way of life set our societal standards.
I am saying to everyone in general, please just consign the NFL and ESPN to the dust bin of history.

Well, you know that sports were developed by all nations that had something to protect. They were developed to keep their young males ready for war.
Than was a long time ago and our military is very well able to train its own.
NOW, it big business. That's all it is, pure and simple.
Football is particularly BIG business, especially since it's only "once a week."
Baseball goes ON and ON and ON and ON and ON and ON and ON and ON so one can miss many games and still "keep up."
I also think that sports-watching has become a social event for inviting people to one's home for food, sports, drink and lots of talking. That can't be bad.
I have AT&T for my television, internet and both phones so I can always click my little remote 'til the cows come home.
What is pathetic is that the caliber of television, in general, SUCKS big time. Nothing really new. I just watch those shows close to my heart.
Blue Bloods, ANY Star Trek show or spin-off, tennis, baseball, Law & Order, only with Vincent D'Onofrio and some cooking shows.
Hang in there! We HAVE seen the last of Obama.
