Another Liberal Mayor Pledges To Protect Illegal Immigrants From President Trump
Townhall ^ | November 14, 2016 | Cortney O'Brien

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio promised illegal immigrants living in New York City that they need not fear Donald Trump's deportations plans. He plans to resist President Trump's immigration policies at all costs, whatever that means.

Now, Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel is echoing De Blasio's declaration. Speaking at a press conference at the Lurie Children's Hospital on Monday, Emanuel said Chicago will "always be a sanctuary city."

"To all those who are, after Tuesday's election, very nervous and filled with anxiety as we've spoken to, you are safe in Chicago, you are secure in Chicago and you are supported in Chicago," the mayor said.

He's not kidding. Under sanctuary city status, police don't have to report illegal immigrants to U.S. Customs and Immigration Enforcement.

Pardon me if I’m wrong, but if someone won’t do the job they were elected to do, can’t they be replaced by someone who will?

hmmmmm....Looking at the shootings and murders in chi-town, nobody is safe and secure there.

We avoid that hellhole.

My mind is reeling with more sarcasm than I can write.

That’s fine. As long as Trump cuts the funds to them, they are free to redistribute their funds away from their own citizens and toward the illegals. That’ll probably start clearing up the vision of some of the locals.

If it weren’t for Federal subsidies back in the 190’s, NYC would be a wasteland. Perhaps it’s time to pull all Federal monies from NYC until those in charge see the light.

Trump can send in a U.S. Marshall to arrest these traitorous wind bags. Do it to one and watch the others fold like the cheap suits that they are.

Be not deceived.... What ever a politician sows, that will he also reap. It’s going to be a bumpy ride for these big cities who think they are exempt from Constitutional law. Batten down the hatches, the storm is coming.

I read a few weeks ago one million illegals in NYC are on food stamps, ONE MILLION. You get what you vote for New York.

Trump can claim federal jurisdiction in criminal illegal cases and take custody of the offender.

For sanctuary cities, Trump can simply remove certain types of funding that they receive.

And, of course, he can provide incentives for those within city police departments who identify criminal illegals to ICE.

There should be NO federal revenue used to carry out this guy’s plan to ignore US policy and break the existing laws.

If the taxpayers in that city want to support their leaders in their plan to defy the federal government in this, let THEM foot the bill. PERIOD

Flood the cities with ICE agents to take up the slack.

Impeach the judges who refuse to follow the law.

We can sit around wringing our hands over this garbage or deal with it.

Exactly. Cut the funds. Do this vigorously for eight years to enforce the policies that we want done.

At year six, convene a Title V constitutional convention to bring federal power back under control.

GREAT! They are saving the USofA lots of money!

Trump said he’d push to cut funding to those wanting to maintain sanctuary cities.

This is an extremely important point. This should be prosecuted to the fullest. This is one of the ways to win a war without actually firing lots of shots. Once it has run its course, it will make U.S. Marshals’ job a lot easier.

You can achieve a lot by strategically allocating or withholding funds.

Great! Texas has millions of illegals that we are tired of paying for. A one way bus ticket to the out-of-state sanctuary city of their choice will be a UUUGE savings for Texas, and we will make certain this gets pushed in next year’s legislature.
