Reuters reporter...

“Patricia Zengerle&#; Verified account ;@ReutersZengerle
Just called a Republican congressional office I deal with often and was told the press relations staff is no longer speaking to reporters.”

LOL! It’s getting ‘series’!

The new Members are there now. This is ‘orientation week’.

I am Ok with this.

In my opinion,
the problem with the Republican party
is not Ryan and McConnell.
They are functionaries that have a difficult job.
The problem is not Northeast RINOs.

the problem is, Republicans in
safe seats that don’t due their duty
when action is needed.

This had to happen.

1) The debt ceiling. Who else could get the necessary votes together to make it happen?

2) The budget. As one person, Ryan knows more about the Federal budget than anyone else in Congress. There is FINALLY going to be budgets submitted ON TIME, and that would not happen without him.

3) He’s devoutly Catholic. Trumps tape bothered him. He got past it.

My Congressman, Blake Farenthold got a letter earlier today telling him that the earmarks secret ballot would be noted and that Speaker Ryan was not the change we had voted for post 2008.

“there is not another viable candidate...”

In the House, agreed. However, the Speaker does not have to be a member of Congress... Newt anyone? Seems he’s available if the Snake Ryno shows his fangs.

Trump got where he is by dealing with the biggest snakes there are. He will use Ryan and then discard him once he’s served his purpose, keeping him at arm’s length the whole time.

Getting rid of the snake right away was probably not possible, and would have distracted from urgent current business.

BUT... the snake still needs to go. The sooner the better.

Why is there a vote for Speaker while some of the congressmen might be “lame ducks?” Don’t the newly elected get to vote?
This question has been raised before but the HOR just voted today. WHY?

“We the People need to keep RYAN’S feet to the fire.”

That’s a cool sounding threat, but I have yet to hear anyone actually define what it means, or explain how to accomplish it.

I don’t know why people can’t the idea that this is a Party vote not a House vote. It is for the Party’s nomination in January.
Yes, it is taken by those who will be in the next congress.

The new Members are there now. It’s ‘orientation week’.

I get all of that, but Ryan will eventually stab Trump in the back.

Meh. We’ll see if he does anything worthwhile. I doubt it, but maybe Reince can convince him to toe the line.
