Tech CEO resigns after death threats to Trump (Heh)

The CEO of a San Diego-based technology company reportedly resigned Tuesday after death threats he made against President-elect Donald Trump went viral.

PacketSled's Matt Harrigan posted multiple threats against Trump on Facebook, which later went viral on Reddit, according to a report in The Daily Beast. “I’m going to kill the president. Elect,” Harrigan wrote in one post. “Bring it secret service.”

The cybersecurity company said in a statement Tuesday that it accepted Harrigan's resignation, "effective immediately."

"We want to be very clear, PacketSled does not condone the comments made by Mr. Harrigan, which do not reflect the views or opinions of the company, its employees, investors or partners," the statement read.

In a prior statement posted to the company website Monday, PacketSled said Harrigan had been put on administrative leave.

"PacketSled takes recent comments made by our CEO, seriously. Once we were made aware of these comments, we immediately reported this information to the secret service and will cooperate fully with any inquiries," the first statement read.

Good. Having said that, I'll bet he has a job offer with Fakebook or Google already.

To the Secret Service and the FBI: If this POS does not warrant arrest, then there is no rule of law.

He should at least have the decency to publicly commit hari-kari.

Nah.

I figure he will run for congress in NYC, LA or Chicago.

Or, is the new DNC chairman.

I understand that Keith Ellison wasn't radical enough so they are directly trying to headhunt the leader of ISIS.

He very well could be in the short term.

It may not be a short stay either.

I’ve seem some self-destructive actions in my time, but this one ranks near the top for a normal Joe blow off the streets.

Nice job. Probably decent pay. Unemployed...

Great track to success.

Did he resign or was he fired?
(thought I saw an article on FR earlier today saying Harrigan was fired)

Hey Harrigan,

I hear that Soros is paying $1,500/week to protest in Portland.

Sounds like you have time now...

Administrative leave? Fire him and turn him over to the secret service.

Saw an article saying that he was placed on Administrative Leave. Since he was the founder, they may have needed to come up with some kind of deal to buy out his interest in the firm.

This guy must be the biggest drunk this side of skid row. Nothing else explains his ridiculous behavior. Unhireable.

The FBI and DOJ have spent the last 8 years destroying the rule of law.
