How will this be enforced?
This isn’t a bad move but it will end up being window dressing. A “lobbyist” is an ill-defined thing, and much of the same work can and is being done under other descriptions - such as “special adviser”.
The knowledge and influence that administration officials accumulate is valuable and it isn’t realistic to think those people won’t leverage those assets.
Frankly, it’s probably best for everyone if they do.

While I was listening to the Chicago-based Dan and Amy Show this morning, they interviewed Steve Moore, possible Treasury Secretary. He mentioned it would be more like of a lifetime ban. Who knows for sure at this point?

Such great news that the country elected Trump despite the pathetic, lying media, and we’ll continue to ignore their lies as they sink further into oblivion. Looks like additional publications are headed into bankruptcy, and many have not turned the corner into the digital age. Some conservative sites are not yet fully blown sourced journalism - some are - but these liberal sites are pathetic, slanted, and push agenda, vs objective journalism.
Now we also must ignore the idiocy at Google and Facebook, as they try to strip away legit ad monies from conservative and more objective groups. They too are liars, pretending to be objective...
Umm, not that I disagree but how does the President claim any power over the employment of someone AFTER they leave government service?
I can see a ban on anyone serving who has been a lobbist in the last 5 years.
Excellent.....and maybe this can be propagated down into the state legislatures.
