Yes I do. Try typing the letters ACS into Google and see how many different organizations are listed. I happen to belong to the American Chemical Society, which has initials ACS.

But defining an acronym at first use is also among the rules of writing. Any reporter who did it would have his or her head handed to him by his editor.

As I recall, habitual imbeciles like Barbara Boxer and Diane (cheese and rice, how I absolutely detest that woman) Feinstein were rabidly pro-cripple the intelligence agencies. The most egregious effect was that the FBI and the CIA could not exchange intelligence.*

The most notable ultimate result was the murder of 4000 U.S. residents and the destruction of a world architectural icon.

The whole point of FR (and good writing) is to present information in the quickest, easiest to grasp way, which is NOT "looking it up in Google".

And the rule about "define your acronyms" is what "I" was taught in high school English class about fifty years ago. Perhaps such detail is no longer taught these days, as much else that has been lost.
