Booting Christie, picking Bannon, Flynn and Sessions. Possibly naming an openly gay guy to the UN. Yea, keep in mind that Trump still has to get voted in by the Electoral College, and having insiders like Priebus and Paul Ryan on board is very helpful in preventing any revolt - since Trump’s electors are Republican insiders. I still don’t consider this election over until that vote, which is still a month away.
And I agree, all is well. The people who were convinced that Trump was just tricking us and would turn sharp-left don’t look very good if Sessions runs the Justice Department.
It will change over time, and not just due to natural attrition. I remember when JFK was a similar idol. Many families, not just Catholics, had framed portraits of him on their walls.
The JFK portraits stayed up until sometime in the '80s, I think. The disillusionment might have begun with Ted's behavior at Chappaquiddick.
Then slowly there began to be information trickled out about JFK's own atrociously reckless behavior. Yes, he endangered not only himself, but national security too.
The "serious" media studiously avoided reporting these things. A few years ago, one of JFK's White House interns wrote her memoirs. What JFK did, if her account was true, was even worse than BJ Clinton's behavior in the White House. And her story had the ring to truth to it. But she was completely blacklisted by the MSM. No Katie Couric interviews for her.
Even so the JFK "legacy" is permanently dirtied. The portraits are gone. The Kennedy name is no longer electoral magic. At some point the same thing will happen to Obama.
