It's been less than two weeks since Donald Trump was elected president, and already his first foreign diplomacy meeting is turning heads.
A handout photo shows Trump meeting with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe in Manhattan's Trump Tower...with his daughter, Ivanka Trump, listening in. CNN correspondent Ivan Watson deleted his tweet of the picture, but not before various reporters, political commentators, and other users pointed out the inappropriateness of Ivanka's presence.

Yes, wonder what all the consternation is about, no one ever thought anything about Valerie Jarrett sitting in!
Why is it inappropriate?
She’s a businesswoman.
Perhaps the PM asked to meet her.

That’s one of the best reasons that this will be a great four years!
This from the same people who never said one word about Hillary and 1000 FBI files on private individuals, or about her ordering Magie Williams to remove papers from Vince Foster’s office the evening of the day he was murdered.
It’s inappropriate that “a woman” or “his daughter” is sitting in on such a meeting?
Frankly; I think that given DJT’s propensity to have his family members involved in his “business” it shows trust and the willingness if not the intention to obtain the views of people he absolutely trusts. And if it is his intention to continue acting this way, a way that has generated tremendous success for him based upon the high level of competence his direct family members have shown, it is a confidence builder for them.
It is also, like it or not, a small test of Abe’s ability to be distracted by a good looking woman. It is a bit of a disarming move. A mini-tactic.
Now what’s inappropriate is the guy sitting on Trump’s right. You don’t wear brown shoes with a black suit.
Other than the brown shoes I find utterly zero wrong with this!
But Jared isn’t in on the meeting nor is there a chair for him in the official photo.
Japanese are big on protocol etc...
It’s an interesting development and might give fuel to the fire of Ivanka as Ambassador.

The critics of this must be misogynists. They hate women in positions of power and influence.
Ironic that the Japanese Prime Minister missed the inappropriateness of it all and declared that he saw Trump as a solid leader that he had a lot of confidence in.......oh, wait, that's what they are trying to erase from the story......
That is Gen. Flynn sitting next to Trump.

I believe Ivanka speaks fluent Chinese and Japanese is similar. Trump does things for a reason...not for a photo op. And so....See Ivanka.
This statement may not make me many friends but its important to remember. Donald Trump does not hold any office in the USA right now. In fact so far he has zero Electoral College votes for 2016. That number will almost certainly go up over 300 in December (unless some gross sleazy stuff happens) and then once Biden announces the results in January then Trump will be announced as the person to be sworn in as the new President on January 20th. But for now the Electoral Votes count is zero and he holds no office.
Now there are some matters of trust/responsibility that Trump has already assumed. He gets access to classified information and hopefully he’s not using some private email server in the Trump Tower bathroom closet for an non-citizen maid to printout the classified emails. He has some sort of transition team budget. So he does have certain federal responsibilities. But nothing like what will happen when he stands in front of the chicken coop looking Capitol building on January 20th to take the oath of office.
And yes the media should be outraged about Ivanka being there; presuming that the media is honest. Many times they have tried to label the now-President-Elect as being anti-Semite. If true then he should be shunning his daughter and saying things like “Ivanka is BAAD and I have a HUUUGE problem in my family”. Ivanka is now a Jew as her husband and their 3 children, which are Donald’s grandchildren, are Jews.
Personally I could care less what religion Ivanka is or whether or not she is there with her father. I care that they follow the laws and that they drain that darned swamp.
