Trump should hold a presser early on with him using scissors to cut through a tangled mess of real red tape, then announce reinstatement of all cancelled leases and ending the 8 years of federal blockage of the legal use of the lands by the lessors. He could even give all the lessors advance notice so they could have drilling rigs sitting outside the gates with their engines idling and crews suited up and ready to work.

Election 2016 (subtract all argument from emotion):

A nation commiting suicide vs. a nation that wants to live.

I’d love to see an EO that reopens ALL closed roads on US Forest Service land.

Colorado doesn't need any industries.

They can all just get high, and pretend they have jobs.

“Jewell’s Bureau of Land Management claimed that the 25 “Mancos” energy drilling leases now being cancelled were just a non-performing portion of 65 leases on “lands managed by the White River National Forest” and “amount to less than ½ of 1 percent of the active leases on public lands in the state of Colorado.”
Very consistent. The libs have been doing this to choke off oil production for years. In Alaska, at the ANWR area up where there isn’t anything, they are stifling less than 2% of Alaska with that project. Doesn’t matter how many jobs are created or how much oil can be harvested.
And the really funny thing, I laugh at libs a lot, is that the reason they didn’t want the pipeline and fought against it, was because it would harm the porcupine caribou by cutting off their migration lands and cause a jump in calving mortality rates. I was up there a couple of years ago, and I found out that from the people up there that since the pipeline was built, they are over run with caribou. It seems the mortality rate of newborn calves has been cut because the pipeline is heated for the winter month so the oil won’t freeze under temps below -100D and the cows have been calving right next to the pipelines. I guess this can be explained as the caribou being smarter than the libs. No surprises here.

“The BLM manages nearly 700 million acres of federal lands in the United States”
Did anybody else see black lives matter at first glance? LOL

From article:

"But the 25 properties were “non-performing” only because they have been tangled in red-tape since President Barack Obama took office in 2009, even though they were leased in 2005 during George W. Bush’s administration."

"The timing of the cancellation of Mancos leases is especially egregious, because the United States Geological Survey just announced in June that the gas resources in the Mancos Shale formation that covers much of Northwestern and Western Colorado, has 40 times more natural gas than the USGS had projected."

"The USGS originally estimated in 2003 that the Mancos Shale’s Piceance Basin held up to 1.6 trillion cubic feet of gas. Their latest estimate is the formation holds about 66.3 trillion cubic feet of gas." "The area has now been upgraded to “at least the second largest shale gas resource in the United States.” Its potential exceeds the size of the Bakken Shale Play” covering North Dakota and Montana that has almost doubled U.S. oil production since 2009."

Issue new leases with a new clause - all gas brought up must remain in the United States for consumption.

Colorado voted Hillary. Perhaps they need 2 years of the Hillary treatment or they can undo their sanctuary cities.
