Frankly, I don't understand why Trump would reward people that actively undermined his campaign.
I can understand the desire to reach out to people that didn't actively support Trump. But, Romney went way beyond that.
Nothing says GOPe more than Mitt Romney.

If he becomes SOS, Trump will soon regret it. Mittens will hobnob with all the globalists, take “input” from the GOPe elites, and see himself as the next president. There is no need to appoint him to anything. Its an unnecessary political risk.
Fine with me to make a public display of considering him as long as he doesn’t actually get picked for the job.
Similiar thoughts my husband and I just had at the breakfast table. The economic and private sector element Romney would bring is a big positive.

Romney should be the government reorg czar. Develop a plan to cut a couple of departments, and modernize the others. This is right in his wheel house. And Trumps.
Pence is in charge of recruiting for the cabinet. My guess is that Trump will follow Pence’s recommendations.

Trump will send Romney to a reindoctrination school to teach him what the meaning of Conservative is.

Romney kept his mouth shut after Trump won the nomination. During the primaries he tried to defeat Trump and lost. I don’t see the problem.
Romney tried to get the whole state of Utah to turn against Trump. He’s no ally, Mr. president-Elect. He is a globalist.
Unless of course Trump is pulling a deal like Nixon did with Bill Rogers. In that Rogers was a front man while Nixon ran foreign policy from the White House. That might work.
Agree. Romney stepped way over the line and could have cost us the election. That is inexcusable.
As a leader, you have to show other would be rivals what happens when one works to actively undermine you. Let Mittens have his moment with Trump to show magnanimity and then move on.
Mittens should know by now that, just like in business, when you gamble in a big way, you might lose big.
Trump could make iCarly undersecretary, and put her in charge of marching into certain places, like say, the IRS, DOJ, EPA, et al and saying the magic words:
"Pack your stuff and get... out."
They might make a really good team that way. Doubtful, though.

I like Mitt for this job. It keeps him out of the country a lot. Also, sounds like Trump’s other national security picks will neuter the SOS much as Kissinger did for Nixon.
Bolton is a bushbot neocon. He wants to invade half a dozen countries next week including Iran, Syria and Yemen. The news that Trump might pick Romney instead of Bolton came as a relief.
