Jeff Sessions may prosecute ‘sanctuary cities’ if confirmed as attorney general
The Washington Times ^ | November 20, 2016 | Stephen Dinan

Sen. Jeff Sessions is on record saying so-called “sanctuary cities” that protect illegal immigrants should be prosecuted. He himself may get that chance next year.

Mr. Sessions is president-elect Donald Trump’s pick to be the next attorney general, and if he’s confirmed — a very large if, at this point — he will mark a 180-degree turn from the Obama administration on a host of issues, but nowhere more so than on immigration, where he’s been the Senate’s leading crackdown proponent.

From his first day in office, Mr. Sessions will have the power to strip some federal funding from sanctuary cities, thanks to rulings this year by the Justice Department’s inspector general, who said federal law requires localities to cooperate with immigration agents — and who provided an initial list of a handful of the worst offenders.

“The sanctuary cities thing is huge. I think most jurisdictions are going to fold like a cheap suit,” said Rosemary Jenks, government relations manager at NumbersUSA, which lobbies for stricter immigration laws.

And three cheers for Sessions!

If Trump can ice that cake with a good DHS Secretary, they will be pooping themselves. Unlike almost all the other promises Trump made, immigration enforcement can start on day one. Step one, cancel the Obama executive orders. Step two, put out new (short) policy on enforcement. Step three, enforce the law that’s been on the books since 87.

The rot in the SF Bay Area is going to require wearing chest high waders to make an arrest.

I personally can’t wait for this fight.

[Los Angeles:] ‘We do not need to follow federal law...’ [Alabama:] ‘We no longer recognize homosexuals calling themselves married.’
[Los Angeles:] ‘You can’t do that, it’s settled law...’
[Alabama:] ‘So’s immigration.’

It has to be complete. It’s the only thing that will save us from becoming Mexico Norte. Some places already are but maybe it can be reversed.

The headline translated from SJW Progism into human speech:

“Propaganda paper makes stuff up in attempt to further insurrectionist unrest and violence”.

As to the agitprop, I’d have no prob with the entire “sanctuary city” system being slow roasted on a bed of hot coals... or dealt with samey same as is proper for rabid dogs.

Good for Jeff Sessions!!!!

Those such as the feckless and goofy Liz Warren who are attempting to persecute Jefferson Beauregard Sessions for his Southern heritage are intolerable!!!!

Maybe we should skewer Elizabeth Warren for her American Indian “heritage”(NOT!)!!!!

Just wondering . . . Where are the sanctuary cities for hard-working US citizens who don’t want to pay income tax any more?

YES!
Prosecute the Oregon State governor, Ron Wyden and Jeff Merkley.
Kitzhaber is already kicked out so let’s get rid of the rest of ‘em.
Make Oregon great again!

The mayor of San Francisco is Chinese...an ABC (American Born Chinese) and there are MANY illegal Chinese in the San Francisco Bay Area taking advantage of our CHEAP education.

They get their college degrees here and go back to China.
They get the cheap fees because they LIE about being residents...using a relative's address in the cities. It's a long-standing scam.

Sigh. Not much anyone can do about it. Their scam is of long standing...read that as cheating: lying and stealing.

Um, before you get too excited, remember that Sessions isn’t confirmed yet, and although Republicans have a razor-thin majority (51), just one Senator going wobbly means Sessions gets shot down. Because you know the Democrats – with their Media lackeys cheering them on – will fight like hell to stop any law-and-order nominee … because, once the immigrants start being removed, the Dems lose their voting majority.

And the Senate has some wimpy Republicans who could be susceptible to the media intimidation that is coming over this, like the Maine ladies, or Rand Paul …. it’ll take a real effort to get everyone towing the line

Shrillary REALLY ought to get a hold of the morons who told her that being the spouse of a governor and POTUS and being a senator from the great state of Arkansas DOES make her presidential material.

Besides, after she lost she CRIED. Really? Is that what she would do if she HAD been elected and HAD some failures? CRY!? Come on. Gimme a break.

We REALLY dodged a bullet with Trump's win.

...Defund them and prosecute....

The Feds cannot force states to enforce Federal law. No more than the Feds can force states to enforce anti gun Federal laws. But, states can enforce Federal laws voluntarily.
The big hammer here is to deny sanctuary cities all Federal funds. That would hit them where it really hurts. However, on a funding cutoff, the Liberals would whine, “What about the children?”

“Obama attributed the loss of the House, the Senate, state legislatures and assemblies under his presidency to people not being able to “see the recovery” and and Republicans taking advantage of redistricting and gerrymandering.”

He NEVER TAKES RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANYTHING! HIs complete failure and the destruction of his Party is his fault. It’s just too bad it took an additional four years to get us here. That a$$hole Romney is the sole reason.
