I think they say Nixon was in Dallas the day before, Bush 41 may have been in Dallas too; careful going down the conspiracy road.

And a new conspiracy theory last week basically came to light involving the Cubans.

One can read it and it almost sounds persuasive, there are so many theories out there.

The Cuban thing breaks down for me here:

“The shooters included Dussaq, Lee Harvey Oswald, an assassin code-named “Piatogorsky” and two unidentified CIA hitmen. Bazata’s diaries also cite other fringe players in the plot, including backup shooters, five body doubles for Oswald and random “pointers” and “shouters” designed to confuse police and witnesses.”

Waaayyyy to many moving parts to be successful. Jobs like the JFK killing need to be small and neat from an involved party perspective.

Too many possibilities so in the end, I think Oswald probably was a lone gunman assassin, he was a strange character and I think had it in him to do it, misguided he was.

Believe it or not, John Wayne did visit a Marine base in the Phillipines, Wayne is sitting down eating, yes, Oswald is in the doorway: http://photos1.blogger.com/x/blogger/5291/1101/1600/886509/post-624-1166562729.jpg

Unrelated but interesting.

I heard an interview with LBJ’s long time mistress in the 80’s. She said Lyndon met with several men in suits in their Dallas hotel. After they left he said Bobby K wouldn’t be a problem any more. The next day he was assassinated. She said he had had people killed, but it “was just business” and that he was a good man. This was on a Lubbock talk station.

I thought it was against the FR guidelines to post conspiracy theories.

Nixon was definitely in Dallas the day before. That’s not theory.

The New York Times mentioned it in an issue dated November 22, 1963, the day of the assassination.

This was back when the printing presses took a lot of time to be set up, so the NYT would have needed a time machine or clairvoyance to connect Nixon with the assassination at that point. In other words, the item about Nixon on the NYT back page was not intended by the paper to be related at all. It was simple fact.

I hadn’t heard about Bush the Elder, but a little bit of research shows a Dallas Morning News clipping showing he was scheduled to speak in Dallas as president of Zapata Off-Shore Co. the day before JFK was killed. It’s not really unusual for a high-ranking Texas oil man to be in Dallas.
