Eliminate 3 or 4 or 5 per new one. We are drowning in them and we wont be runing out anytime soon.

Maybe he could eliminate like 100 regulations and then replace them with 50 of “this regulation left intentionally blank”.

The tax code is something like 6 King James Bibles —combined.

That’s ridiculous.

How about not allowing ANY new ones until personally reviewed and approved by prez?

Got to stop that auto-pen!

Better put a word count limitation on the new ones or the bureaucrats will delete two four line regulations and replace them with one 300 page one.

Jerry Pournelle’s idea:

I have more on this, but it’s late and I’m tired. I will repeat: a quick way to stimulate small business and raise employment would be to raise the exemption levels: a single line of legislation that doubles the exemption levels. Regulations that apply firms larger than 10 no apply only to those larger that twenty. Similarly, regulations that don’t apply until you get to fifty employees now don’t apply until you have one hundred. This alone would create a very large number of jobs, and pretty well everyone knows it. The capital is out there. And probably no single measure would do more to add to the number of people employed, especially if you cut the amounts paid to people for not working.

The bureaucracy is smarter that that. They will just make the new regulations twice as long as the old regulations.

How about NO NEW REGULATIONS for 24 months, while you “drain the regulatory swamp!” First things first!

Taken out to the end, we will eventually have 1 regulation (maybe 2 depending on the final iteration)......instead of enacting a bad regulation, then “supplementing” it with 10 more to “make it right”, it will change the process/concept.<p.The man is a genius.....
