Very misleading headline. Trump said that prosecution was NOT off the table. What he did say was that HE wasn’t going to pursue prosecution.

Trump is trying to lull Obama into not giving her a pardon.

I hope you are right. But that is not how the various news outlets are portraying it. If that is what Trump means, then I agree with him. Put somebody else’s fingerprints on it.

I agree. I dont think it is up to Trump whether to pursue prosecution. This would be up to the justice department.

What Trump was saying, is he will not pursue a political vendetta, which is the correct position.

If certain facts later come to light, then the AG can pursue it.

Right! We will know Trump’s intention if he replaces Comey. A new FBI director likely would recommend prosecution and AG Sessions would follow through.

For what it’s worth, I think the best outcome at this point would be for the Clintons and the Obamas to exile themselves to some Third World hellhole that has no extradition treaty with the U.S.

This would be, in effect, an admission of guilt.

Satisfying as it would be to inflict condign punishment upon the leaders of the Left, the fact remains that we’ve got a hell of a tough job ahead getting the economy on track and the military back to normal efficiency.

Investigating and trying Hitlery would be the mother of all distractions.

The Left is so vile and dangerous that the only way to truly beat them is through violence — disperse the rioters with real bullets, then try their leaders for treason and execute them. But the only way this could happen is through a right-wing dictatorship, which is not what we just elected.

I would say candidly that I believe the only way we can save what’s left of our culture is through such a dictatorship, followed by a gradual restoration of the Constitution once the cancer has been cut out.

However, politics being the art of the possible, our best practical weapon against the Left is to starve it of funding.

Wish the hand wringers would figure this out.

It's possible this is his strategy. Avoid the appearance of a personal vendetta by letting others do the dirty work.

Not too dissimilar to how he let his campaign surrogates do most of the worst mud slinging in the campaign, while not touching a lot of it himself.

I don't know this to be a fact, but it's a possibility.

Pursue is the operative word here. He is a smart man. He knows to pursue is to personally get involved. That is exactly what the media wants so they can say he is above the law and carrying out a personal vendetta against poor Hilary.

I think what Trump is doing is letting the FBI continue the investigation that is ongoing. Then letting law enforcement turn their conclusions over to the AG. The AG will stand up a Grand Jury to determine if an indictment is appropriate. (Let the people decide through a Grand Jury the way it is supposed to work.)

This is a smart strategy by Trump. His hands are clean of a personal vendetta charge like the dems do. Trump can then say the people have spoken through the Grand Jury process.

Exactly. It’s out of his hands. Only the Attorney General can decide whether or not to prosecute.

agree. Trump has to make it past the EC vote first, then he can be “Trump”.
