Hmm. The article makes it clear that the warnings to return “home” are actually warnings to illegal aliens who are studying outside of the US to return to the US. They are not telling the students to return home.

The narrative seems to be that illegal aliens are brighter than Americans and that without them, we will become some uneducated backwater.

The reality is that if those illegal aliens are so bright, their home countries need them. “Brain drain” is a real problem for developing countries. They send their best and brightest to study in the US or Europe, and then their best and brightest decide that opportunities are better in the US or Europe and fail to return home. Thus, the developing nations get absolutely no benefit from higher education. Sending them home is the best way to make life better for everyone in their countries.

BINGO-—meanwhile homegrown Americans cannot afford college and are opting out of EXTREME brainwashing. Between us there are four kids. so far the three eldest have bypassed college. All have jobs in smaller companies with benefits. Not a lick of college. My daughter did some welding training. My baby, 12 year old son is doing classical ed with a homeschool-2 day on campus model. Very intense program. He may end up in college if we can find the non-brainwashing non- illegal alien pandering college.
These officials living off of taxpayers are empowering themselves with the IA population. Sickening!

If they do return “home,” thereby interrupting their studies abroad, already paid for, will the universities refund the pro rata part of their tuition they still hold?

Heh, heh.

The “undocumented students” choose the US because the corruption in their home countries is so bad they only see opportunity outside. So the solution to the illegal alien problem lies in their home countries, though hoping for the solution is wishful thinking.
