Why is the Obama administration taking this position?

Because Obama wants to be the leader of the Left when he leaves office, and he wants to get the Clintons out of the way.

Read Greenfield's piece about it here.

A machine such as the one where I worked had just over 500 ballots, and we were busy almost every minute of a 13 hour voting day. The only safe backup would be an observed physical count of those ballots after the memory stick is removed but before its results were read. Unless a blind human verification step such as that is included, the complexity creates too many procedures for any one person to be 100% confident. We already had a hand count of cast ballots from the signature verification ledger to assure that nobody messes with whose votes count.

Another thing is those dang ballots. They include other stuff such as referendums, state, local, and country elections. It was two pages, both sides, a very large size. A separate vote for just President, VP and any US Senator up for election would be so much easier to work with and a small simple ballot would speed up the procedure.

Sounds like a good idea, not so sure it could easily be accomplished though. Hopefully President Trump will decide he is culpable for criminal activity and ask Putin if he would like him extradited to Russia. 8>)

Oddly enough, from what I’ve been following on Social Media, the Stein recount was aimed at Madison Co, because Stein did so poorly there compared to other lib college towns.

It wasn’t that Trump was fraudulent, no, they wanted a recount because many in the camp thought Clinton was fraudulent, and they want to true the vote for future 3rd party races (that and they knew the primary was rigged, which was the birth of Stein voter).

In order to get in front of this, the MSM and the dems HAD to hitch their wagon on the effort to appear to be “united against Trump”. Wrong. There is no unity on that front, the Stein folks felt the dems screwed them, and will continue to screw them.

So, now the dems are stuck... they want to recount just to cause turmoil, but recounting can also lead to all sorts of other anomalies, especially if they get down to voter rolls.

The Stein people in no way think they can win a state, what they are doing is trying to make sure the dems don’t keep rigging elections to keep them laughable as a party.

Don’t let the MSM stories fool you, this is not about Trump, so much it is about the dem machine, though they are going to try like hell to control that narrative.

Stein was pretty adamant that Hillary would get us all killed if elected. She and her supporters hated the Clintons after the primaries, I don’t suspect they are now buddies no matter what the MSM is telling us.

Well now Hillary’s campaign is going along with Jill Stein for a recount; I read it this morning on “Facebook”!

Now that is using your noodle. I considered both but the former has been the scenario I have been favoring.

Why is the Obama administration taking this position?

Because the recount, in addition to failing to help Hillary in any way, will likely reveal serious irregularities on the Democrat side of things.

Regardless, Hillary's "failure to accept the results" will do still more lasting damage to the Democrat party.

President Trump is going to build a "big tent" GOP coalition that will retain its principles, and relegate the Democrats to minority status for decades to come.

Even 0bama knows that this petty, vindictive, shameful recount failure will put another nail into the coffin of his failed party.

The Democrats are destroying themselves by failing to learn the lessons of this election...

>>Why is the Obama administration taking this position?<<

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Why is Soros?
Why is The Corruption?

They must know it is not going to change the outcome.

Are they just trying to delay for some reason the counting of EVs?

I feel like I’m not getting the full picture here.

Because he doesn’t want the Democrat Party to look stupid. It’s a little too late for that, but we won’t tell him.

That kinda of matches my recollection when I posted to a Freeper who thought Gore might have won if the whole state was counted. I remember some Lib reporter claiming that when he investigated, even if the whole state had been recounted, the votes would probably have come in at least at the same margins for Bush. I did read of the ‘several thousand vote margin’ accounts that you had mentioned as well as you jogged my memory of the “newspaper’ survey!
