BALTIMORE A 1-month-old girl died Saturday when she stopped breathing during a protest of the second Baltimore police-involved shooting reported in the city in three days, police said.
Baltimore police Maj. Richard Gibson, who was on patrol in the area of the protest, rushed to a restaurant on Greenmount Avenue after a group told him that a baby had stopped breathing in the restaurant.
He performed CPR until paramedics arrived, police said, but neither he nor paramedics were able to resuscitate the girl. She was pronounced dead at a hospital.
Witnesses told police that the girl's mother, who was not identified, was one of about 30 people who gathered on Greenmount Avenue to protest Saturday afternoon in response to a police shooting one day earlier...

Well shitya... Take a newborn to a protest. Just showing respect for life.
Lord have mercy. Bless this officer for trying.
Gee, thanks a lot mom.
“Infant Dies During Celebration of Castro’s Death” would be as close of a correlation as this weak link to the protest is.
Do you mean other than the witnesses stating that the mother was attending the protear?

Non lethal force can be lethal to an infant
Who brings a baby to a protest?
Was this baby put in harms way to keep the police from using non lethal force, like pepper spray?
If so, who does that ?
American taxpayers have spent $15 TRILLION +++ & 50 years +++ to raise an army of feral animals who hate us.
Yes, I do. There’s barely even a geographical or temporal relationship. Was she smothered as they fell as they were bum-rushed by the police? Did she succumb to tear gas? No. They were in the same general area at the same general time. “Infant Dies During Post-Thanksgiving ‘Shop Local’ Campaign”, that’s just as good.
The Moose have been using this tactic for a millennia and a half now.
Why would she allow the hated police to try to save her child?
While she (the mother) was indeed attending the protest, you are correct that there’s no indication that events at the protest led to the infant’s death.
It appears from news sources the mother realized her baby wasn’t breathing when she went to get some lunch. It is there that Major Gibson attempted CPR. I suppose one may question exactly when the infant stopped breathing but it doesn’t seem to be related to the protest directly.
Personally, I suspect exposure to the cold. Otherwise I have no explanation as to why an otherwise healthy newborn would stop breathing.
1 months old typically don’t have the strength to free themselves during positional asphyxiation. The kid may have been exposed to too much cold or been bundled up too tightly to breathe freely.
Without an autopsy being released you cannot jump to the conclusion that anything the mother did contributed to the infant’s death. The story reads that she and the infant were indoors when the baby stopped breathing. There was nothing to indicate the child had been exposed to any harmful actions or substances previously.
This is a very sad situation for the family and for the policeman who tried to save the baby.
Your use of logic may confuse some.
Wait. . .what. . .at a protest march against the police and then they run to the police for help?
The relating factor between the death of the infant and the protest is the mother who took a one month old out to a protest.
Babies are not an accessory and shouldn’t be carted around as if they were. Temporary modifications of adult lifestyles and activities are necessary for the health and welfare of infants.
This mother put her politics first and tragedy resulted.
Yep,
LBJ's plan is right on schedule.
