I got to get this in about that Romney nomination.
Kellyanne is out and about today, saying all she is receiving is grief about that nomination, that it’s not her, goodness.
Although she sure made some good points, like Romney not only bad mouthing Trump but how he never had a single good thing to say about him.
One of the round table pundits speculated that having Kellyanne out and telling the world about how despised Romney is is a way of pressuring Romney to withdraw his name from consideration.
I don’t know what Trump was thinking when he called Romney in for consult. Either it’s a show or Trump thinks he’s still on Celebrity Apprentice.
I cannot stand Romney and if Trump appoints him my Secretary of State I shall not be happy.
Not that I can do anything about it, but I will not be happy and Trump will forever have lost some of my confidence in him.

Funny....had to watch CNN, on a restaurant TV, today. They had globalist climate propaganda guru Tom Steyer on, who said “if Trump dismantles the climate progress (the left has made), it will devastate Americans and our economy”....or, something to that effect. He also said “their is NO stronger power than that of the people”. He got one out of two right.
Trump is/will dismantle the globalist cabal’s golden gravy train. Too bad the little lefties, who follow these fools so blindly, don’t realize that they’re helping the globalist effort to keep the ‘little people’ down.....and, that Trump is actually the way to rise above their evil plans.

Pat, I share your misgivings about Romney. Even if he makes some sort of public apology to Trump, I don’t believe he can ever be trusted.
My concerns go deeper, however, because of the obviously huge effort the establishment factions are making on his behalf. It seems to me they are desperate to get “one of their own” into that position. I’ve pinged kabar to this comment because of his DOS career experience, and I’d like his perspective, but it’s my belief that the State Department itself, as currently constituted and with its present institutional culture, is a danger to the Republic.
Over many decades they’ve evolved a culture/mindset, at least at the highest career levels, that doesn’t particularly care what the American people nor their elected representatives care or want. They have their own agendas, and believe they are far better qualified to manage and direct the country’s foreign affairs business and place in the world.
From comments I’ve read elsewhere it seems that some of the permanent higher-up careerists at State feel that “administrations come and administrations go, but we remain”, and that they often refer to the President (of either party) as “the Incumbent”. In other words, there seems to be an attitude that elected officials are mere transients, to be tolerated and “handled”, while they continue doing things their way behind the scenes.
If Romney, who admittedly does not share Trumps goals and beliefs of where the country should be going, is allowed to become ensconced there, he’ll be positioned to do a lot of sabotage and undermining of Trumps policies. In other words, he would be another Colin Powell, and could damage Trump just like Powell did to Bush.
Perhaps I’m overly concerned, but I not only don’t trust Mitt Romney, I don’t trust the State Department. Trumps needs someone who will be able to reform it, not get in bed with it.

Lucky to now have
Twin Yamaha 350’s on a 33.5 Grady White..... and a 225 Yamaha on a 24 foot Action Craft Bay Boat.
Saved for those boats for 25 years until I retired and could enjoy fishing more often.
