Prayers up. Kinda curious though at the OSU tweet.
“Buckeye Alert: Active Shooter on campus. Run Hide Fight. Watts Hall. 19th and College,” OSU Emergency Management tweeted.
Curious that they actually used “fight” in their tweet.

Some "active shooter" training uses this instead of the "shelter in place" methodology. They are VERY careful with their wording but basically say if you have have the means and the opportunity to take down the assailant to do it.
This is what is being formally advised in employee terror survival videos
It’s the standard active shooter step protocol.
1) Run
2) If you can’t Run, Hide.
3) if you can’t Run or Hide, Fight for your life.
Standard active shooter protocol. First choice, run. If you can't run, hide. If you can't hide, fight.
Run Hide Fight is the new paradigm.
Run - Your first option. Get away if you can.
Hide - If you can’t run, hide. Barricade the door. Try not to attact attention.
Fight - If you can’t run and you can’t hide, fight as well as you can with whatever you have available. If you fight, you have a fighting chance. If you are passive, you do not. Experience shows that being passive will not save you.
Those are the normal protocols with an active shooter scenario. In that order. If if after running and hiding, they are confronted -fight. Use anything available to survive and stop the shooter.
