Man! That must have been a lot of fun back then. I learned about it all from Rush, but I suppose it was all old news here by then? What were the first rumors saying about Bill and his intern?
I don’t remember exactly what stage the investigation was in when I first found the site, but I remember back then people could still post the full Washington Post articles on here, which kept us from having to soil ourselves by going there, but led to the WP threatening FR bad enough now all we get are excerpts.
But what was going on here was more an attitude of disgust, and amazement at the sinful behavior of the President, as I said many here were very religious. There were basically no liberals on the internet back then, anywhere, because you not only had to be fairly well off to have a computer, you had to be pretty smart to get on the internet, which excluded most liberals by default.
That was the best thing, it was a conservative heaven, with basically no disruptors, the only arguments were between conservatives over who was the most conservative. Once liberals started getting on here, several of us suggested the site should go to pay only for access, but the owners apparently prefer this open format that leads to the Clinton sympathizers coming in and being tolerated somewhat.
