“They are private enterprise, a business.”

That’s what they should be, but they really aren’t.

The NY Times and the Washington Post, for example, though privately owned political entities, believe themselves to be part of government.

Making a profit, the goal of a serious business or enterprise, is of little importance.

NYTimes has its bail out investor Mexican billionaire Carlos Slim. WaPo is owned by Amazon’s Jeff Bezos. Both are just propaganda rags with no worries about making a profit.
