Probably because the want to overturn the election as badly as Hillary does. Who knows. Unless Trump starts making noise about it it’s just going to cause undue stress to follow it

Any other candidate can file a written objection to the recount thereby forcing a hearing on the issue.
Wonder if Trump will file?? I’d like him to but I fear at that moment the media will explode the “what’s he afraid of??” narrative.

168.879 is the applicable Mich law, since the vote for electors for president and vice president is canvassed by the board of state canvassers:
