During a statement on Tuesday, former Vice President Al Gore argued that the Electoral College should be abolished in favor of a popular vote system.

Gore said he supported keeping the Electoral College even after the 2000 election, because it tied the states together, but now he has changed his mind and thinks the Electoral College should be eliminated.

I’m more in favor of something else that is popular in some democracies, elimination of the losing candidate

Yes, and I might add, his home state is still very proud of that fact.

During a statement on Tuesday, former Vice President Al Gore argued that the Electoral College should be abolished in favor of a popular vote system. [without giving a reason---just because...]

Gore said he supported keeping the Electoral College even after the 2000 election, because it tied the states together, but now he has changed his mind and thinks the Electoral College should be eliminated.

We have to bear in mind who this imbecile is...

In the past, Gore has stated that we don't need vouchers because public schools are far better ...

Visiting Historic Monticello, he looked around a historic hall at busts of the founding fathers along the frieze and famously asked, "Who are these people?" after having served as Vice President for an entire term.

He may have even read the Constitution... Specially Article II, Section 1, Clause 3.

... 1993 cast the tie- breaking vote for the biggest tax increase in American history.

Has claimed repeatedly for decades now, that man-made global warming is "settled science!" The half-wit is half right...

It may be settled, but has never been "science."

He may have even read the Constitution... Specially Article II, Section 1, Clause 3 the Twelfth Amendment.

Fixed. The Electoral College functions under the Twelfth Amendment, adopted June 15, 1804.

Gore further argued that switching to the popular vote would “stimulate public participation in the democratic process like nothing else we could possibly do.”

Sure Al, just what we need…. We already got half a population of great unwashed uninformed voters trotting off to the booths who would do nothing more than vote as if the target was a dart board (if they hadn’t been told to go and vote DemonRat). If you actually cared about this country, you’d be looking for ways that voters could be better informed before finding their ballot…. and if that meant LESS people actually voted, that would not be a bad thing. Personally, I’m all for a means test that people would have to pass before being allowed to vote…. if such a test could be administered fairly (which we know it can’t).
