.
The “no man knoweth” was how he told them exactly when to look for his return, and prophecies totally define the year of his return as the end of Daniel’s 70th week. And that 70th week begins on the next Tishri 1, which is variable only to the extent that the appearance of the new moon can be a day off of mathematical computations due to levels od water vapor in the air.

He also expects us to watch (i.e. keep his appointed times) so that he will not come as a thief to us.

He very much wants his sheep to know when to expect him, or he wouldn’t have given us so much information.

This same bubble occurred around 1833.

Many gathered in public places to welcome Christ back.

How did that work out?

Those people were just as convinced as you are. They thought they had it from on high too? They studied prophesy. They were very certain they had it all figured out. They looked it over again and again.

Not trying to give you a hard time, but we have to attend our affairs until Christ comes again.

There is nothing evil about keeping our job, paying our bills, choosing good leaders over others, conducting foreign affairs as best we can.
