No idea how this “mastermind” could not understand this would be viewed as a Pearl Harbor and get the same response. Beirut was a very different story and would be for any country. When your troops are attacked overseas, it seems logical to assume you should bring them back home where they’re safe. Once an enemy makes the homeland unsafe, there is no choice but to invade and attack them.

And why is this guy still alive? He should be dead and buried at this point. We’ve gleaned all the intelligence we can from him by now.

Sometimes you think you know all the answers.

Then you realize you didn’t even know all the questions.

This is why I thought Timoty McVeigh should have been kept alive.

People mellow as they age. Later on they may feel regret and open up.

For simple murders, man kills wife neighbor or other citizen, sure execute them.

When people with strategic knowledge are executed, access to information is sealed. I think there’s a strategic reason to keep them alive.
