Per the press conf they just had they’ve now got 24 bodies and can see more but cannot yet get to them.

More codes or laws wouldn’t have helped. They’re in violation of several codes, have had the law out frequently. The problem, as often is, the powers-that-be did not have the WILL to ENFORCE the law.

The owner, manager, senior tenant and building inspector should already be in cuffs and sweating in police station. The mayor and fire inspector should be close behind. I smell fraud and corruption.

That's my whole point. Oakland undoubtedly has some excellent fire, plumbing, and electrical codes, codes that were blatantly and repeatedly violated by the owner and the horde of irresponsible, filthy, destructive, hippies that infested the premises. It's just another version of the ongoing auto-massacre of and by blacks in Chicago. Each could be stopped/prevented by aggressive, determined, enforcement of existing laws and regulations by responsible local, state, and Federal government.
