K Mart was the place you didn’t want to be seen. If you saw a classmate at K Mart, the unspoken understanding was: “I didn’t see you and you didn’t see me.”

All of our Kmart stores were/are really trashy. We had, ‘Treasure Island’ when I was a kid in Milwaukeestan. A REALLY old discount store like Kmart.

That was always a fun trip!
