This momma is making a statement...

What statement? In this article the words are from someone else! The woman herself isn't quoted, someone else is saying "these are her words".

That's hearsay, not a statement!

Fine, it is a statement that she is claimed to have made that is in line with Sharia law.

So SOMEONE is making a statement in line with Sharia no matter what hairs you wish to split.

If someone wrote,”she said,” and proceeded to write her words, then they are also quoting her, but you’d never know if they quoted her correctly because you weren’t there. Hearsay!

How do you know the author quoted the imam correctly? Was anything said? Did the tree fall in the woods? How do you know if I’m writing this? You aren’t here and will never know. It really drives you carry doesn’t it?
