The mainstream media and the Obama administration, like the media and governments in many Western countries, goes out of its way to excuse Islamist terror, and actively paints a picture of Muslims in the West victimized by supposed Islamophobia. This tendency is bolstered by the corresponding refusal to acknowledge Islamist terror for what it is, substituting euphemisms or generalities to cover what are clearly murderous acts done in the name of Islam. Most ludicrous of all, is the penchant -- particularly by Barack Obama -- to discourse theologically about the “religion of peace.” In fact, this refusal to accept reality not only excuses Islamist terror, but encourages it, and makes any reform within Islam next to impossible.
Take the recent example of the Muslim Ohio State attacker, Abdul Razak Artan. Artan blamed media for negative reports about Islam “…that put that picture in their heads…” which led to his insecurity at the university, a place where he was “…kind of scared….” Thus he rather neatly portrayed himself as a victim before attempting to murder a dozen people by running them over and knifing them. Artan’s victimized ideation was probably a fantasy since it is highly unlikely that at Ohio State he received anything but deference to his religious orientation, and explicit negative descriptions of Muslims in the American media are quite rare. More likely the mainstream media’s and the Obama administration’s false hysteria about supposed Islamophobia is what gave Artan the idea to paint himself as a victim.

No. Islam cannot be reformed. Any attempts to do so are apostasy under Islamic law, punishable by death.
I know. It’s just that there seem to be more radical sects in this religion as well as more moderate ones. I don’t want any of them allowed in our country. Oddly enough, I lived next to a Berber muslim from Algeria for many years and he was a wonderful guy. He loathed muslims from Arab countries and blamed them for all the troubles.
General Sherman could have brought about reform of Islam, the same way he pacified the south and the indians.
The best we should hope for is no more nation building (Thanks Bush and Obama) and silly rules of engagement.

ISLAM WAS BANNED FROM THE USA IN 1952: but Obama & the media don't want you to know that. The Immigration and Nationality Act that passed June 27, 1952 revised the laws relating to immigration, naturalization, and nationality for the United States. That act, which became Public Law 414, established both the law and the intent of Congress regarding the immigration of Aliens to the US and remains in effect today.
Among the many issues it covers, one in particular, found in Chapter 2 Section 212, is the prohibition of entry to the US if the Alien belongs to an organization seeking to overthrow the government of the United States by "force, violence, or other unconstitutional means." This, by its very definition, rules out Islamic immigration to the United States.
This law is being ignored by the White House. Islamic immigration to the U.S. is prohibited under this law because the Koran, Sharia Law and the Hadith all require complete submission to Islam, which is antithetical to the US government, the Constitution, and to the Republic. All Muslims who believe that the Koran is life's guiding principal also believe in total submission to islam & sharia law.
To all who claim that Islam is a religion, read the law again ... the law states that Aliens who are affiliated with ANY "organization" that advocates the overthrow of the U.S. government are prohibited.

Nobody who believes in Sharia Law should be allowed into the US of A because their first belief is to destroy America. That is a fact whether they will say it out loud or keep it hidden from public view. Refugees / immigrants who have no desire to learn English are saying they don't want to assimilate into our culture. Islam is an especially scary culture / religion for females, young boys and farm animals.
Would you go to a country where the people made you nervous? Why do these Muslims come to America when they are offended that the women here wear short skirts and have their hair exposed for all to see? If our culture offends you, why do you want to raise your children here? I'll tell you why. Because you intend on taking over the control of this country, that's why!
How do you integrate an ideology that is convinced that non-Muslim political systems are evil into Europe? What explanatory videos will you use to admonish Ahmed from Syria that he shouldn’t set off bombs at the railway station even though his religion commands him to fight the infidels? Which job will you use to induce Abdul to abandon his fervent belief that everyone must live under Islamic law?

Speaking before Al-Azhar (the scholarly center of Sunni Islam) and the Awqaf Ministry of religious affairs, he made what must be described as the most forceful and impassioned plea by a Muslim world leader to date on the subject of Islamic reformation. Among the many vital points he addressed, he said that the “corpus of [Islamic] texts and ideas that we have sacralized over the centuries” are “antagonizing the entire world”; that it is not “possible that 1.6 billion Muslim people should want to kill the rest of the world’s inhabitants—that is 7 billion—so that they themselves may live”; and that Egypt (or the Islamic world in its entirety) “is being torn, it is being destroyed, it is being lost—and it is being lost by our own hands.”
Other relevant excerpts from President Sisi’s speech that should drive the rest of the Islamic world (religious and secular) to seriously consider and act on his words: I am referring here to the religious clerics. We have to think hard about what we are facing—and I have, in fact, addressed this topic a couple of times before. It’s inconceivable that the thinking that we hold most sacred should cause the entire umma [Islamic world] to be a source of anxiety, danger, killing and destruction for the rest of the world. Impossible! That thinking—I am not saying “religion” but “thinking”—that corpus of texts and ideas that we have sacralized over the centuries, to the point that departing from them has become almost impossible, is antagonizing the entire world. It’s antagonizing the entire world! I am saying these words here at Al Azhar, before this assembly of scholars and ulema—Allah Almighty be witness to your truth on Judgment Day concerning that which I’m talking about now. All this that I am telling you, you cannot feel it if you remain trapped within this mind-set. You need to step outside of yourselves to be able to observe it and reflect on it from a more enlightened perspective. I say and repeat again that we are in need of a religious revolution. You, imams, are responsible before Allah. The entire world, I say it again, the entire world is waiting for your next move … because this umma is being torn, it is being destroyed, it is being lost—and it is being lost by our own hands.
