The Michigan recount finished its first day, and there were already reports that half of Detroit’s votes might not be recounted, as well as other problems with ballots.
The reason so many Detroit ballots could get left out of the recount: The number of ballots listed in poll books is not the same as the totals given on machine printouts.
Clinton rang up huge margins in Wayne County, home to populous Detroit, and she would likely need her margin there to grow in order to shrink Trump’s 10,704 vote margin in Michigan. Clinton received 66 percent of the Wayne County vote on November 8.
The news of the Detroit problems broke in the Detroit News on December 5 as two Michigan counties started recounting ballots from the 2016 presidential election. The newspaper reported that “one-third of precincts in Wayne County could be disqualified” from the recount because of ballot problems. According to the newspaper, officials “couldn’t reconcile vote totals for 610 of 1,680 precincts” during last month’s countywide canvass of Election Day returns, adding that most are in Clinton stronghold Detroit, “where the number of ballots in precinct poll books did not match those of voting machine printout reports in 59 percent of precincts, 392 of 662.”
The Detroit Free Press quoted an expert who questioned the Michigan recount law, which varies from other states in that, if there is a discrepancy between the number of ballots and those listed in poll books, a recount can not be done in that precinct, and original results stand if the “difference is not explained to the satisfaction of the board of canvassers.” This happened on day 1 of the Michigan recount, when a Rochester Hills precinct could not be recounted because of a missing ballot, said the newspaper.

They scanned the same ballots multiple times. Thus they had X amount of voters and 2X the number of votes or something similar.
This is a case of “careful what you pray for, you just might get it”.
Unintended consequences. Clearly there is something wrong with a system where every single time you count a finite number of objects (ballots) you come up with a different number.
Stein will use this as evidence that the machines are unreliable. Typical leftist tactic: Create a problem and blame it on your opponent.
The democrats view votes as how many are available, not how many people actually cast their votes. They do it right out in the open too.
If the ballots cast don't match the ballots available to be counted, the district cannot be recounted. The original vote stands. That means that the number counted (potentially fraudulent) would be certified. If she picked up votes in other districts, she would get the benefit of the recount in the honest districts plus the benefit of the original count in the fraudulent district.
She did the same thing in 2000 when she expected access to the White House via algore but he was too bumbling to make it past the margin of cheating in fla. I’m sure he was saying aw geeze can’t I just cede and go home?
She had full acces to the state department with obama and took it. Obamas been awfully quiet since the election. The republican establishment has been shaking in their boots over her and her antics. Geeze 20 January can’t come soon enough

No problem for Clinton. A liberal federal judge will overrule the Michigan recount law and instruct that all questionable votes be awarded to Clinton. All very simple.
Absolutely, “ballot box stuffing.” What we observed in previous cycles in Baltimore with electronic voting was 200 or so votes cast (for the Dems) on each machine before the poll even opened. That would cause the symptom reported in Michigan.

The people in charge of the machines in these precincts should be slapped with a search warrant and brought into the local FBI office for a chat. I'm sure the same tactics are used in most democrat inner city precincts.

But the “honest” districts wouldn’t pick up enough votes in the recount to make a difference .

That’s the way I read it too.
The UK Guardian reported today the main reason for the difference is that the Detroit scanners were in such poor shape that they were often jamming when a voter put in their ballot papers. It seems that as an election judge retrieved the ballot and ran it through the scanner again, the machines actually tallied those ballot twice. I’m not sure this would constitute an intentional ballot stuffing, although that would be the end result.
They’re only 10 years old and are rarely used.

No, the votes don’t recounted. The tally will stay the same. So there’s no chance Hillary can increase her votes in all these Detroit precincts.
They don’t get removed; they just don’t get recounted.
