The Election's Ominous Results
American Thinker ^ | December 7, 2016 | Sha'i ben-Tekoa

Yes, it is good that Donald Trump defeated Hillary Clinton, especially in light of revelations of her private email security breaches and pay-for-play administration of the State Department. If true, she belongs in prison. However, what is ominous is the number of voters who, despite all that was known of her crimes, still voted for her. This is not a sign of a healthy American electorate.

It seems the same citizens who voted for Barack Obama in 2012 after his disastrous first four years voted for her. Many people who go the polls in our generation are simply not thinking. They are less informed and thoughtful citizens than idolaters.

This is not what the Framers of the U.S. Constitution had in mind in Philadelphia in the summer of 1787 when those fifty-five remarkable American men of achievement -- businessmen, doctors, lawyers, farmers, and scientists, argued and drafted that document that has served America so well ever since.

Chairing their proceedings was the richest man in America and rightfully the most admired, war hero George Washington, the future first president. It is said that the Framers designed the office of the president with him in mind.

However, neither the future second nor third presidents, John Adams and Thomas Jefferson, were in attendance. They were in Europe serving as ambassadors to England and France respectively.

And they [electorate] don’t have term limits.

In a sense they do. Only problem is that the incoming freshman always lean left.

I believe both my son/daughter voted 'Rat. I think it is temporary, they'll come around after working for a few years of working and unlearning what "school" taught them, and replacing that with real world knowledge.

Scale that to society as a whole, a sea of incoming "freshman" of kids in their 20's, where many if not most will see the light and the error of their earlier ways in future decades, and then outgoing seniors in their "last term".

Very true. And I would trace this back to the morally corrupt, subversive, anti-American, anti-Judaeo-Christian, anti-western left wing educational and media establishments. They are all run by 60s generation vermin and their damn leftist offspring.

What's hopeful is that people who voted for Obama TWICE

Voted for TRUMP in IA, MI, WI & PA for him to win!

That's pretty incredible! There is no way that I could ever vote for Hillary, no matter what TRUMP did!

So true but if you eliminate the fraud vote and the automatic black vote it is not quite as bad but still very sad that so many have no problem with voting for a known liar corrupt Hillary or think the facts about her are lies

IronJack, that would have been Dem. Gov. Edwin Edwards during his re-election campaign. He was later convicted for racketeering and served 8 years of a 10 year sentence. Even by Louisiana’s standards this guy was dirty..,.

Unlike the illiterate commoners and even serfs still so prevalent in Europe, Americans were, on the contrary, overwhelmingly literate, self-sufficient, independent farmers; a husband and a wife with an ax, some seeds, a plow, rifle, ammo, forty acres and a mule. Some 93% of Americans at the time of the Revolution were such yeoman farmer families. They knew essential math. They could write and keep records. They all had a Bible. They worked together in friendly and communal barn-raising parties; they built churches together and schools for their children. The common man in America was most certainly capable of self-rule, Jefferson said. The Colonial Period had lasted 150 years and self-ruling communities, relatively free of a central power, were the rule.

The Election's Ominous Results

Yes, very ominous and a sign that we're heading in a very wrong direction as a society, BUT, if Justice were truly equal and blind as the pundits like to say, then she would've already been in jail and she would not have been running.

In that sense, one could say that George Washington was the "John Kerry" of his time.

Washington was a surveyor by trade, and was not a rich man. He married Martha Washington, herself the "Teresa Heinz" of her time, who inherited great wealth from her deceased husband who was a very successful planter when he died.

So in short, Washington was the richest President until Trump, by marrying inherited wealth.

That Hillary got more popular votes than Trump - that she got any popular votes at all - is a testament to how low our standards have fallen.

In Donald Trump we finally have a champion who stands up to the professional liars and calls them out.

I sure hope he prevails.

“I blame the media.”

Partly the media and partly the fact that people spend so much of their time letting their sewage flow into their brain.

An intelligent daughter of mine, who was educated in Chapel Hill and lives there and voted for Hillary, when with great pleasure after Trump won I told her she was a liberal loser, she said Trump will soon be impeached. She really believes that!

Well, it started a long, long time ago .. and if you didn’t have children in school, you probably didn’t even notice the change.

When my son was in Junior Hi, the Principal of his school said to me .. “Well, we can’t have them thinking for themselves”. I didn’t get it then .. but I do remember I was very concerned by his statement.

Fortunately, my son started reading Rush Limbaugh’s books that he wrote years ago, like “See, I told you so”.. The books totally righted his mind. And .. there have been many, many people who have called Rush recently saying how pleasantly surprised they were about his program after they started listening to him.

I think dissolution of the Union as we know it is the only long-term hope for peace. The left is increasingly strident, violent, and bigoted, and it would be better to let them go their own way. I think we should support and even encourage California, for example, in their efforts to secede. If we resist, we will face a very real civil war. I think the leftists will lose such a war, but it wouldn’t be without a horrific cost in lives. The ideological divide is too great to ignore.

That the turn out was actually lower than in 2008 and 2012 isn’t a good sign. Maybe. We haven’t had even 65% eligible voter turnout since 1908. But look around, maybe that is a good thing. Especially since supposedly the 10% of voters that are swing voters decide all national elections no matter if a pub, dem, con or lib wins it. So the people that vote one way and then another and usually can’t give a rational reason supposedly determine the election. The dumbest that still somehow manage to vote. If more voted, maybe the swing vote would just increase as a % of eligible voters.

“Let us keep this in perspective, one third of the votes cast for Clinton are fraudulant. Either dead folk, or illegal aliens.”

I’m not sure that it is that much - stupidity, hatred and ignorance of history and the way the world works accounts for most of those votes. HOWEVER, one of the primary missions that the Trump Administration MUST have is to push a bill through Congress that will guard against the vast majority of the fraud. It must cover only those elections in which candidates for federal office are on the ballot, or it will not pass Constitutional muster.

1) No non-citizens can vote, PERIOD. Proof of citizenship is required to register. Any non-citizen even attempting to register to vote is kicked out of the country, and barred from returning - EVER.

2) No motor-voter registration. That bill (signed into law by Clinton) must be revoked, and the feds need to lean on the states to do the same with their local laws. There is simply no way that state DMVs are equipped to handle voter registration.

3) No same-day registration - in fact, none for at least 2 weeks before an election, so that the person registering can be checked out.

4) There absolutely MUST be a requirement for photo ID to be presented at the time of voting. Trump MUST have Scalia’s replacement on the USSC by the time this case gets to the Court, as it is guaranteed to be appealed all the way up the line.

5) Dead people must be removed from the rolls within a week after death. There must be a link between Social Security and the various election boards to facilitate this. Ditto for people who move from one state to another - when they apply for a new license and turn in their old one, the DMV of the new state must contact the old state’s election board.

6) Voter roles must be cleared - completely - at least every 10 years. This gets people off who have died or moved, assuming that they haven’t been otherwise removed.

7) Once someone votes, they must dip their thumb into some kind of indelible ink. Obviously, absentee voters won’t have that happen - so there must be a means of ensuring that absentees can’t/don’t vote a 2nd time in their own jurisdiction or elsewhere. Also, provision must be made to ensure that all military absentee ballots are rushed to the states in time to ensure that these people - who ensure (among other things) our right to vote, get to vote themselves if they want to do so.

8) There must be SEVERE penalties for committing voter fraud - this needs to be a federal felony. Someone convicted of such fraud must lose their right to vote, and serve some time in prison.

There will have to be some federal funding for this - there cannot be an objection from the states (which would provide a wedge to render the law unconstitutional) about unfunded mandates. However, IMHO, this is well worth the expenditure of even $100 million/year (and I don’t think that it would be that expensive) to ensure that voter fraud is reduced to an absolute minimum.

By the way, exnavy, thanks very much for your service. My father was in the Navy for a couple of years (1959-1961), and spoke of his experience fondly for the rest of his life. He was, rightly, proud of his service, and remained lifelong friends with several of his Navy buddies.

Appreciate your thoughts - but Dad’s not with us any more. Mom will appreciate it, though.

I agree that the numbers are shocking. I was personally thinking along the lines of about 10% - 15%. That’s why I REALLY want to see the voting rolls completely wiped out - make everyone register again if they want to vote, and see how many dead and non-citizens voted (and how many voted 2, 5 or more times). It IS a shocking number, either way; there is a very big reason why the Dems have been fighting every single attempt to verify that people voting are actually entitled to do so - because THEY are the source of 98% of the fraud. With them, the ends justify the means (just like the Communists, which is effectively what most of them are, anyway).
