“In my day food was day old bread from the A& P with some cheese”
==
Yup, a person’s gotta go through the macaroni & cheese and peanut butter sandwich days as s/he starts out in life.
That was good. Next cube asked me what I was laughing about.
So much for the “Freshman 15”.
Finally, after eight long years we can talk about hunger and homelessness.
And by golly, we will...
...non ——ing stop!
Ironic how they “cure” food insecurity with starchy cheap processed junk.
Perhaps they do not need to be at college. Maybe they should get a job and go part time to a local college instead.
Stand by. They’re going to be coming out of the woodwork with stories like this. I bet they find out there are homeless again too, now that their “god” is being turned out of office.
I thought that in college, beer was a central part of a nutritious diet?
When I was in school, you could purchase a meal plan at the beginning of the semester. I had food security by paying for it in advance. Of course I earned my money through 3 yrs of active duty in the U.S. Army.
More like college students are smart enough to not pass up free food, which allows them more money for beer.
That goes good with a little possum jerky.
Silly students only your Lieberal well paid professors and Administrators get to eat high on the hog. You peons not so much. All hail socialism schemes. Now go and vote DemoRat like good lil brainwashed lemmings.
You haven’t lived until you’ve made a grilled cheese sandwich with an iron. LOL.
Not hard to feed yourself on $1/meal. That’s $1095/yr ... if you can afford college, you can afford food (else you need look for a cheaper school); if you’re smart enough for college, you’re smart enough to earn $1095/yr on the side.
And notice that the “community” described created its own low-profile charitable solution, not requiring massive & expensive government involvement. Those who can, toss a few cheap items in the pantry for others to use in a pinch ... go figure, independent & individual charity works.
BTDT
“But they can have cell phones.......”
Yes, they have a new car and all the latest expensive high-tech gizmos...
Different ideas render them incapable of daily life...
They riot when they don’t get their way...
And now they can’t even feed themselves...
Neither of the women pictured running the food pantry looks like she suffers from “food insecurity”...
Dollars for donuts (pun intended) the majority of those students 1) Never cooked a meal for themselves, and 2) Have never conceptualized healthy, nutritious eating in their entire (short lived) lives.
