Some of the Oakland fire survivors broke bread with Derick Ion Almena for the first time since the tragedy -- despite him getting blasted for alleged dangerous conditions in the building.
Witnesses tell us the group sat down at a Denny's in Oakland Wednesday night, had a meal ...

“Okay, I’ll make it as easy for you as I can. I’d like an omelette, plain, and a chicken salad sandwich on wheat toast, no mayonnaise, no butter, no lettuce, and a cup of coffee.”
yes they are.....I have found out that tmz comment section is usually a great read. I always thought ...hey tmz, must be full of liv’s.....but no.
You do have to have ghostery or some kind of add blocker...the site does drain your computer if not.
I saw the photos, too, and the decor was certainly freakish.
I’m no expert, but I think the term “satanic” could be a good adjective choice here, too.
This is interesting in light of the recent discovery that satanic ritual is called “art” by its participants.
Could this be a satanic cult?
Seriously, the thinking is that OFD looks the other way on inspections and code violations if the occupants would be unable to comply.
They, the city of Oakland; don’t want to cede the property to developers who will surely erect expensive multi-family housing for tech workers, driving out free thinking but poor artists.
She dead.
Not intentionally anyway. But these poor fashion victims have no idea what they dabble with.
LOL first responders would not be safe there.
Pathetic
It'll be the elderly Vietnamese man who owned the place and who's daughter dropped by once a month to collect the rent who will be going to prison.
“How is this guy not in jail being held without bond on charges of negligent homicide?”
He’s a member of The Party.
Come to think of it...
In “1984” there was the “Junior Anti Sex League”. That’s exactly the purpose of the LGBTBBQ movement today: destroy the notion & desire for procreative copulation.
Why?
It is some sort of art colony. Attracts lots of weirdos.
Almena was going on to be hellary’s secretary of HUD don’t you know? Why isn’t he charged, jailed, bonded?- because liberals don’t enforce laws against other libs. Big difference between Malheur and Standing Rock... and many other examples of course.
To follow their dream of being “artists” the pricey Oakland housing situation forced them into living in a commune. The other alternative was to get a real job and live in reasonable housing......they chose their dream.
Yes; just as sad, though I’m less surprised by the conditions inside.
lock Derick Ion Almena up now !!
before he flees to another sanctuary city . .
Elderly Vietnamese woman, iirc.
And that is apparently why the Commune Leader is not in jail. This is an 'Artist Community'. I live in the Bay Area, and this tragedy has been occupying the 'news' shows for the past week. It has morphed from the tragedy coverage, to how the Bay Area needs to do more to keep the 'Artist Community safe. I am sure that there is a realization that there are many of these Warehouse squatters throughout the Bay Area, inhabited by leftists who chose not to apply themselves in School (or to find a useful trade) and have defined themselves as 'artists'. The Journalists and Politicians in this area are are very sympathetic to this ilk, and I suspect 'Ion' is going to get away with a slap on the wrist.
Normally I'd have some sympathy for the fellow - not the lifestyle, but understanding that people can blind themselves to hazards around them - but this guy reeks of a conman. Someone here posted a 2014 yellow page (poor man's Yelp) review that stated that the guy was a belligerent psycho, and his place was a death trap (a prescient call). And then I heard that he was on probation for having received stolen property, an RV, - which he denied. If I heard correctly, this stolen RV was found hidden amongst the wreckage in the warehouse.
My bet also. Unfortunately.
The Government is never at fault. The 'Artist' Commune Leader will be declared a victim. The Landlords (a hard working family) will be declared guilty.
I hope I am wrong.
And so, if the city willfully turns a blind eye to a place like this, knowing that people are living in it, and it is being used for events like this, despite the obvious fire hazards, I’d say they’re a legitimate target for a lawsuit. This is why we have fire marshals, code enforcements, etc. Also the putative slumlord is probably settlement-proof, although he may have more money than you’d think.
